What you'll do
Come and have a pottery experience and make your very own handmade mug!
This pottery workshop can be delivered any day of the week (except Monday/Sunday) subject to availability. Booking for groups also available, Please message me to find out more.
After a welcome tour of the studio and warm brew, I will demo throwing on the potters wheel. You will then get stuck in making your own mug/small pot. Practice makes perfect, so you will get to have enough throws to make your best mug!
Once complete you can add a handle, and personalized stamp. Your finished vessel will then be glazed from a choice of colours & ready for collection around 6 weeks later (Optional p&p cost is extra).
You will be able to make one mug to be fired. This is a rewarding and fun workshop that anyone can do, the perfect 'have a go' experience. The session is two hours long.
Other things to note
The studio is a converted barn in the countryside. If you have sat nav the post code will bring you directly here. Look out for my A-board on the road.

I established Moon Studio Ceramics in 2015, and have been running creative workshops for over ten years. My studio is a rustic converted barn, nestled between Avon Beach and the New Forest, with easy access from Christchurch, Bournemouth and Lymington. It is a cosy and welcoming space for you to enjoy some creative time in.
I grew up in the area, and make my own ceramics using locally collected wild clay, rocks and plants.

Where you'll be
The workshop is held in my studio which is a converted barn in a rural location just a stones throw away from Christchurch. The building itself is over 100 years old and was once part of a working farm. There are many local places of interest including the historic Christchurch Priory and quay, plus plenty of country pubs for a bite to eat after your class.
This is an awesome experience. My girlfriend and I went as absolute beginners having never done wheel throwing before. Imogen was so friendly and very helpful in helping us get to grips with the machine, and all of the steps involved in making a piece of clay into a mug/cup. I would highly suggest this for anyone who wants a taster of what pottery making is like, or just wants to do something different and fun for an hour. Imogen also runs other pottery courses that are more advanced and longer if you find that pottery is something that you really enjoy!

Making our very own mugs using a potters wheel fulfilled something my wife as I have both wanted to do for years. Imogen was great and managed to sneak us in on a different time slot which suited us perfectly.
She made us feel at ease and gave a demo with instructions on what to do. She also assisted us throughout, especially when our mugs went a little wobbly.
We can’t wait to get the finished products home.
I definitely recommend everyone give this experience ago and with Imogen by your side I’m sure it your mug will look fab!
