What you'll do
You'll jump right into the bicycling action in the Wadi Degla Protectorate in Maadi, home of several species of birds, foxes, and hares. We'll meet at the Wadi Degla gates where the mountain bikes will be ready and waiting for you. After a 10 minutes warm-up and stretch, we will head on towards the bat cave situated at about 4 km from the gates where we can have a quick snack break and enter the cave. We will then resume cycling for about 8 km to reach the Canyon where we'll set-up our picnic. After relaxing and admiring the beauty and silence of the desert, we'll head back to the gates while enjoying the sunset behind the mountains.
Other things to note
The path is mostly flat, sandy and rocky so a little bumpy. Although the way towards the canyon is more difficult as it is slightly uphill but that means that the way back is easier and quicker.

I quit my desk job to travel inside my country and discover the hidden gems of Egypt. After working on an organic farm for a year I developed (or discovered) a passion for nature that I want to share with everyone. I prefer to be away from the crowd and touristic clichés, that is why I try my best to take you to places that are off the grid and make you experience something a little bit different.
Where you'll be
We'll have our first stop at a cave that serves as a refuge for bats during the day. It's a moderately-easy climb to the cave entrance and a must-do experience as it gives you a magnificent top view of the valley. We can have our first quick break for snacks or continue directly towards the Canyon, where we'll park our bikes to continue on foot through an opening in the mountains caused by erosion where small puddles of water can be seen.
