What you'll do

If you love music and would like to experience Japanese traditional culture, my event is just perfect! Maybe you listen to the Minyo first time, but you feel like you know this music. That’s the Minyo! You are going to have a listening and singing experience for the Japanese traditional folk music, Minyo, remaining in each part of Japan, since long time ago. After listening to my music playing Shamisen, a Japanese traditional instrument, you are going to practice Ohayashi, a small part of the Minyo with me. Ohayashi is very short and easy to sing. Everyone can sing it! So, do not worry. It’s just fun! Event Schedule: 1) Meeting in front of the entrance gate of Itabashi station, then go to a venue 2) Explanation of the history of Japanese folk music, Minyo, and Ohayashi 3) Listen to the Minyo played by me with Syamisen. 4) Experience singing Ohayashi for Minyo 5) Tea time, have some conversation This music event is not a “Practicing instrument, Syamisen” but a “ Singing together ”.

Ai Aomidori

Hello! I am Ai Aomidori. I am a musician. I play Minyo, Japanese folk music. I usually play in a theater or in some events as a professional performer, playing music and do some small talks. Minyo for me is very special. I can say that my soul enjoys Minyo very much. My stage career has started, for the first time, as an amateur Rakugo teller (sit down comedy) for 10 years. And 8 years ago, I started to play Shamisen singing Minyo. It has been 3 years to play Minyo as a professional performer in theaters. I played in Paris and in London last year.
