What you'll do

As this session is aimed at beginners with little knowledge/experience of flying drones , I will kick off by getting the boring out of the way first; teaching you the basic rules and regulations for the local airspace & safety precautions etc. I'll then show you how to set up the drones, run through a 'pre-flight checklist 'then give you a quick demo of operating once airbourne, before handing you the controls. The drone will be in a beginner mode to begin with, where it will have altitude and distance parameters set, meaning that you WILL NOT have to worry about crashing into the sea and/or causing an accident. Once you feel a bit more confident the fun part can begin....flying in more advanced settings which will allow you to cover more distance and take some great shots of the English channel and beautiful scenery including the Purbeck Hills, the Isle of Wight and Bournemouth's 7 miles of golden beaches. The experience will then conclude with some aerial photos (AKA Dronies) of everyone taking part in the session. If you want you can bring along your own Micro SD card or I can share a link with you post-flight for you to view and download the pictures.

Where you'll be

West Overcliff Drive runs along the clifftop from Durley Chine to Alum Chine. We will base ourselves on one of the public benches overlooking the coastline. These have great views of the English Channel and surroundings, but more importantly this area has an excellent vantage point from which to see the drones.

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 5 guests ages 15 and up can attend. Parents may also bring children under 2 years of age.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

More tips

As drones are not waterproof and cannot fly safely in wind speeds greater than 35 KM/H, if the weather gods are being unkind we may need to reschedule (if possible) or cancel altogether.
