What you'll do
Guests will guided on a 2 hour walking tour of Treme, the oldest African American neighborhood in the United States and the birthplace of jazz. Along with colorful stories, I will play music tracks at each stop on the tour AND provide you with a specially curated Spotify playlist! You will learn about the history and architecture as well as fascinating stories about Iconic musicians including Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden, Sidney Bechet, Mahalia Jackson, Danny Barker and the Treme jazz family dynasties! Stroll and listen to songs and stories about New Orleans legends Dave Bartholomew, Ernie K-Doe, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Neville Brothers and The Meters! Guests will be introduced to Mardi Gras Indian culture and the importance of Congo Square and Saint Augustine Church. It is a gorgeous Creole and Caribbean influenced neighborhood just steps from the French Quarter!

Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and seasonal sun protection. Coffee, refreshments and bathrooms will be available midway through the experience with a stop at Treme Coffee House 1501 St Philip Street halfway through the tour.

She is a resident of the historic Treme neighborhood and a member of the Acting Company at Southern Rep Theatre on Bayou Road.
Where you'll be
Guests will tour Armstrong Park with stops at Congo Square to discuss its significance and admire sculptures of famous jazz musicians AND listen to their music! We will make stops at St. Augustine Church & Tomb of Unknown Slave, Backstreet Cultural Museum, N.O. African American Museum and visit historic Claiborne Avenue, Tuba Fats Square & Candlelight Lounge! Midway, we’ll stop for a break at Treme Coffee House, a historic creole cottage!
