What you'll do
During this experience, we will be cooking food together, mostly from scratch, then sharing a meal together. The menu can be catered according your interests. I'll be explaining the culture and history behind each dish along with the science behind each task. Afterwards, we'll share the meal together and take the opportunity to answer any questions. This is truly a unique experience that helps to take something from the unknown to the known. I want my guests to feel welcome in my home and leave comfortable and confident with cooking Chinese food. My hope is that they truly enjoyed their experience and would recommend it to their friends and family as well. My name is not Alexa but close enough! I'm Chinese American, born and raised in the Bay Area, California moved to New York City about 5 years ago. I started learning how to cook from my mom at in my young teens and that has helped me develop my passion for Chinese food. I have a degree in Food Science, have worked for major companies such as Kraft, Pinnacle Foods, and Amazon. I've worked in product development, food quality, and safety for the past 5+ years. I've also served as trainer and mentor to various folks and was a barista so I can communicate cross culturally with ease.
