What you'll do
On board the off-road vehicles we head towards the mountains where the Gola di Gorropu is located, the second deepest canyon in Europe.
The 4x4 off-road route descends to the side of the mountain up to the valley floor where the trek begins. Backpacking, we wade the Rio Flumineddu, the path passes between the holm oak forest and the Mediterranean scrub until we reach the entry point of the Gola.
You will find yourself in a secret place, squeezed between walls 500 meters high, with ponds, huge white boulders, oleander groves, small caves, rare animals and flowers.
Imagine an absolute silence, such that the fall of a stone, a voice, the song of a bird echo for hundreds of meters. You are in the Gorropu canyon, a magical place where time seems to stand still. After the naturalistic observations, the photos and the intense emotions, here we are at the stop with packed lunch. The second part of the trek will take us back to the off-road car park for the return.
Other things to note
Excursion suitable for all people as long as they are in good physical shape, accustomed to movement and who have no health problems

I am an Environmental Hiking Guide registered in the register of the Sardinia region.
I graduated in Natural Sciences and I take care of excursions. I am very passionate about nature, travel, history and I love my beautiful island very much.
I manage Jebel Sardinia, a company that deals with hiking, kayaking tours, 4x4 tours, guided visits to historic centers and archaeological sites and we also organize typical lunches by shepherds and tastings of traditional Sardinian products. For me it is a pleasure and an honor to accompany visitors to discover the beauties, secrets and traditions of our area.

Where you'll be
One of the most fascinating trekking experiences in Sardinia is certainly the excursion to the Su Gorropu Gorge, the extraordinary crack that crosses the wild Supramonte of Urzulei and Orgosolo. Gorropu is also the second deepest canyon in Europe!
