On this virtual tour, an Indigenous guides will proudly share and highlight the rich forests here in British Columbia, while sharing our cultural stories and foraging practices of the plants and trees. Over 133 species are harvested by our people for food, medicine, technology.
Our foods and medicines include blackberry, huckleberry, wild rose hip and flower, wild crab apple, the liquorice fern root and devils club to name a few. Learn the stories and Indigenous uses of red and yellow cedar, western hemlock, broadleaf maple, alder and the mighty douglas fir tree. Included will be the cultural protocols that supported an ecological intact society.
15 minutes will be provided at the end of this signature tour for the guests to ask your guide questions and discuss your interests.
