Hi, I am Chris :-) Besides being a theater-actor, I have developed a big passion passion for Dutch History, which has grown over the years, and love to share that with you. It’s amazing to realize how deceptive simple things from the 16th century have shaped the whole history of Holland! I have been giving private tours for over 5 years now and my extensive knowledge about this wonderful historic 17th Century little village of Zaanse Schans is still expanding. In March and April we also visit the Tulipfields and Keukenhof. Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot, can be added and is a nice addition to the tour. I am a very open, enthusiastic guide and always try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. This is a family friendly tour for ages 6 and up. If you are looking for an intimate and personal tour, I wanna be your Dutchman ;-)

When in Amsterdam, Chris is your guy! From making the meeting point very easy to the activities chosen for the tour, he really caters to the group and their needs. Needless to say, it was a once in a lifetime experience, getting to learn about the Holland windshields and the iconic wooden shoes. We also had the opportunity to stop by little shops and stores to purchase items as we went on. Chris is charismatic, caring and definitely knows his history! Even if your schedule won’t allow you to do this experience, be sure to reach out to Chris as he’s very flexible. Definitely the highlight of my trip!

Communication prior to tour with Chris was exceptional. He was prompt and transportation he provided for our group of six total was nice. Chris was very friendly and approachable. He made the tour fit our needs and interests and was very flexible if changes occurred due to weather. He did not rush the tour. He took the time to chat and answer questions. Chris was interested in us individually. He provided us water and other truly authentic snacks. Chris was very knowledgeable about the sights we were touring. I would highly recommend this tour with Chris.

A beautiful, very educational, and relaxed-pace tour. Chris was an excellent guide and connected with the whole group. We learned so much about the Dutch culture and history, and was able to sample some great cheese and pastries. Lots of photo opportunities here. We recommend adding the castle tour if you’re able to.

The little windmill village was bursting with its rustic charm and history. We visited the cheese tasting shop, candy store, clog shop and many more interesting things. Lots of brilliant photo opportunities. Lovely! Thank you Chris

Chris was an amazing guide!!! There were a lot of similar tours offered but they were in big busses and we were really looking for a "local" experience with a personal touch. Chris exceeded our expectations on all fronts. He was so easy to communicate with in the planning and I felt very secure throughout the entire process. Chris has a deep knowledge of the culture and history and was very friendly and easy to get along with. It felt like we were being shown around by a local friend ! It really was a once in a lifetime unique experience and were able to see a side of the Netherlands most people don't get to see. I can't recommend Chris' experience enough - an absolute joy !
