What you'll do

It is no secret that during the Renaissance, Italians were culinary and artistic masters, paving the road to contemporary excellence.

On the tour, you will roam through streets and squares, surrounded by the tales and secrets of Florence. Your guide will recount important historical people and places, connecting their stories to the importance and love of food.

You will explore the details of monuments such as Orsanmichele and the Duomo, as well as the unique personalities of Lorenzo the Magnificent, Leonardo Da Vinci and Caterina de'Medici’s impact on the culinary world (just to name a few)! Our city has always mixed craftsmanship, culinary expertise and love for beautiful things ... literally, our art is on the table.

To understand an Italian city means savouring its delicious tradition. After your tour, we will explore the traditional Florentine cuisine featured in your guided tour at our home in the city centre! Together, we will prepare a multi-course meal for you with locally sourced ingredients, which can vary depending on the season.

We look forward to taking you away on this culinary adventure with us!

Where you'll be

We will start in Piazza della Repubblica then discover the sites of Orsanmichele, Dante’s neighbourhood, the Duomo, and Palazzo Medici to explain how Florentine’s lived and ate hundreds of years ago, as well as how it has influenced contemporary cuisine. We will revel at how some things change, yet how many have stayed the same throughout history in this small, bustling city.

What a perfect evening. Marco was so very enthusiastic telling us stories about his city and Allesia made us a wonderful dinner and gave us time and space to talk, asking questions and enjoy the delicious 4-course-menue.

This was a great way to start our visit to Florence and a nice way to celebrate Christmas. Alessia was particularly helpful before our visit with restaurant recommendations, even calling to make reservations for our family.

RECOMMENDED and Do Not miss this experience when you visit Florence!! (apart from Tiramisu) There are two parts of this experience. First is a walking tour and second is a homemade dinner. The walking tour: Leonardo was our guide for a walking tour in Florence. He is not only an expert for being a tour guide, the way he told us stories or details about the city and attractions is also very interesting. He also gave us a lot of tips about foods and a shortcut method for visiting a museum without trapping in a long queue. Definitely, we’ve learnt a lot about the historical information. For the dinner: the full course HOMEMADE dinner was so amazing. We can tell that all dishes were delicately made with a good quality of ingredients. Our hosts were super friendly, lively and funny. This made us feel like we had a very delicious dinner at our close friend’s house. Plus, we made new friends while enjoying a wonderful dinner as well Thank you so much!! We really had a great time!! ‘5 stars is not enough!!’
