What you'll do
This 3.5-hour walking food tour offers five mouth-watering tastings. While exploring wide and narrow alleys in the maze of the Bologna Medieval Market, you will taste Bologna’s essence, touring five hidden food gems that I have carefully selected to give you an authentic local experience. The tour is led by an expert local host, that will unveil ancient secrets and stories.
To let you taste Bologna like a local, I'll take you to:
- A fresh pasta workshop, where you'll have the chance to see veteran pasta artisans at work!
- Bologna’s most ancient deli store, where you will savour a special selection of cured meats and cheeses: Parmigiano Reggiano with Balsamic Vinegar, Mortadella, Prosciutto di Parma and more! All with typical breads and local wines.
- A pasta shop to sit down and chill with a glass of local wine and a dish of fresh, hand-made pasta: tagliatelle al ragù, tortellini or tortelloni at your choice!
- A traditional ice-cream shop to sample delicious, artisanal gelato!
- The oldest bakery in town, to taste their delightful “torta di riso” (rice cake)
*Special dietary restrictions can be met
Don't miss this delicious experience! Your tummy will rejoice!
Other things to note
The experience is a walking tour so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing your camera!

Ciao! It’s Andrea!
I am a passionate foodie guide from Bologna who loves food & culture and after traveling extensively and scrutinizing my hometown meticulously in every corner, I dedicated my life to creating unique experiences for my guests to offer them insights from a local perspective, definitely off the beaten path!
Since I am a licensed guide and actively cooperate in various foodie and cultural activities in Bologna, I personally selected a small team of highly professional, expert foodie guides that will replace me in case it is necessary: Micol, Giacomo, Fabio and Elena!

We had another guide called Giacomo (as the booking says may happen), but he was very good and knowledgeable so I was perfectly happy with that!
The tour itself is actually very good value for money, and while I did consider doing a full day tour, I think this was actually all I needed before exploring the city. We found some real gems.
Definitely would recommend this trip to anyone needing an introduction to Bologna - a great foodie city.

This tour was a really lovely experience. We were initially a little surprised since this is not an exclusive, more personal AirBnB experience but instead we joined an already established food tour group, which was different from what we had expected. However, we still really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from our lovely host Micol. And all the food we tried was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend!
