What you'll do

Entering into The Garden of Eden you will be given the freedom to MAKE ART in one of Australia's most INSPIRING STATES - TASMANIA

Irrelevant of talent, technical skill, or ability you will grasp the basics of drawing, painting & design, however, we will also meet the needs of those confident in their talents providing the space, materials and mediums to get your creative fix while away from your own creative spaces.

Each workshop will introduce you to a short slide show of Tasmanian artists and their artworks to boost your imagination further and give you more of an understanding of how the diversity of Tasmania can be applied & translated into visual expression.

You will then be given the opportunity to try out various materials and mediums to explore the area you strongly resonate with. There will be hands on demonstrations and assistance whilst you discover your signature in any of the elements and you will create an artwork that you will be proud to take home with you.

You will also be treated to a platter of the best local produce & the option to enjoy wines + hot or cold drinks at your leisure
Other things to note
I have a very sociable little maltese shitsu dog who loves new company so if you traveling with your pet, feel free to bring him/ her along too.
Wear something you don't mind getting paint on.

With a lifetime of creativity, a Fine Arts Degree, years of experience juggling art workshops, design projects, working at MONA in the museum & the exhibition productions team, my passion is to invent opportunities for people to make art & discover their own unique creative talents, even when they believe they don't have any. I believe the famous artist Picasso when he stated "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." My goal is to give you the opportunity, the materials , the tools & the inspiration to discover the artist either lying dormant within, or the opportunity to create because you just need to and you not in your studio.

The passion and enjoyment which Claire showed for her art was infectious. I really felt Claire believed in what I was doing, and so I believed in myself. The art work I was able to produce with Claire’s gentle direction and assistance surprised and pleased me so much!

Loved the art experience with Claire. She easily empathized with my desired expression of wanting to explore watercolors in more depth and helped me to unleash my hidden talents and to overcome issues through which I was holding back. So it happened that I explored spontaneously mixed media as well which I hadn't done before. Thanks so much Claire for sharing your studio, your talents and offering the opportunity for new insights! Thanks also for the great food!

From the moment Claire welcomed me into her home I felt warm, comfortable and cosy. She had the fire roaring and a spacious work space all set-up ready to go. We began with some fabulous conversations about my chosen medium - linocut - and she showed me some local artists who specialise in this art form. We then brainstormed some ideas and I watched her skills come to life as she manipulated an image ready for me to cut into lino. He conceptual understanding is incredible, and I learnt so much! Then came the scrumptious platter of local cheese, bread, and other fresh produce alongside countless cups of tea. I honestly couldn’t fault the experience, and would highly recommend those arty folk to meet Claire and allow her to share her passion and knowledge with you. I’ll be sure to book again next time I’m in Tassie!
