Historic Art Studio Visit & Unique Hike
Experience hosted by Caterina

What you'll do
We will visit the studio of sculptor and painter Patricia Naylor at a historic art compound on Upper Canyon Road. Following the studio visit and conversation with the artist, you will have an opportunity, weather permitting, to walk with me along an idyllic section of the Santa Fe River and continue on to the Santa Fe Canyon Preserve, where we will take an easy 1.5-mile interpretive loop trail detailing the colorful history and fragile ecology of the place. Right now the spring runoff in the Santa Fe River is wonderful to behold! You'll see native plants, birds and, if we are in luck, beavers swimming in the reserve's pond. This experience offers you a taste of the great outdoors, not very far from the center of town. Hope you will join us on this unique "off the beaten path" outing.

I am a longtime Santa Fe resident who loves to explore art and nature. I would like to personally introduce you to local artist Patricia Naylor in her historic studio setting, then take you on a walk along an idyllic section of the Santa Fe River. In addition to English, I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and will be happy to interpret the experience for speakers of these languages.
Where you'll be
We will visit an artist's studio located in a historic compound on Upper Canyon Road. The hike will be along an idyllic section of the Santa Fe River that runs adjacent to the compound. Depending on weather and the ability of the group, the hike will continue into the Santa Fe Canyon Preserve, a unique landscape that features beaver ponds, a variety of birds and the remains of an 1881 stone dam that once provided water to the city of Santa Fe.
