I'm Edoardo, owner and chef of the "Il Maritozzo Rosso" Bistrot.
In 2016 I won the "This Is Food" competition, an award for the most innovative idea of the year. Which one? Filling the Roman Maritozzo with salty ingredients. Revisitations of Roman cuisine. Dishes ending up in the maritozzo (a sweet kind of bread) or served in the traditional form.
I like home-made cooking: bread, fettuccine, pizza and TIRAMISU'...
We would like letting you live this experience, so you will make TIRAMISU' by your hands and then, eat it into the maritozzo.

The host is excellent chef, but not the best entertainer. The teramisu is very delicious, but i would add stories and anecdotes to make the experience fuller.

My friend and I were twenty minutes late, but when we did come the lady who greeted us didn’t seem bothered and quickly set everything up for us. We didn’t meet with the host, but that could be because we were late. Overall it was so much fun, very personal and hands on, and definitely worth the price. We had a blast, and I’m still dreaming of that tiramisu.

Edoardo’s restaurant, Il Maritozzo Rosso, is tiny and gorgeous, tucked away in an area of Rome I may not have explored otherwise. The location made it immediately inviting. Edoardo is a specialist in maritozzi, and the tiramisu we made was paired with this delicious pastry rather than the usual savoiardo biscotti, which made it unique. I am glad to have done the workshop as I now know how simple it is to make a divine tiramisu with the right fresh ingredients and good technique.

My husband and I had such a good time making tiramisu. We really loved the location of the class and loved the rustic setting. Trastevere is a magical place and this restaurant seemed to fit in perfectly with the atmosphere. Our instructor helped us step-by-step to learn how to separate the eggs, to blend the sugar and egg yolks, to fold in the egg whites, making sure we were successful along the way. I was expecting to use lady fingers for the dish, but our clever host used a Roman sweet roll called maritozzo. It was very delicious and a wonderful Roman twist. I can't wait to try it at home and share it with friends. Thank you so much for a fun class.

Maria was very warm and friendly. We made a rustic Tiramisù that we could easily make at home, if we can find the brioche!
