Catch a train from Rome Termini station and in 40 minutes you will be in Castel Gandolfo in the roman outskirts. During the journey you can enjoy a lovely ride through the countryside and on the Albano lake view. I will come to greet you at the train station in Castel Gandolfo and together we will walk to the main center to start an amazing GUIDED TOUR of the Pope's Palace. Since November 2016 the Palace has been open to public for the first time ever, visitors are now able to explore the Pope’s house, his private bedroom overlooking the lake Albano and the official rooms where Popes have been receiving important guests for centuries. After the visit we will stroll through the town for a Food Tour where we will enjoy local food and wine tasting having a great time in a truly local atmosphere completely off the beaten paths.

My name is Alessandra, I’m an official Tour Guide of Rome and a Foodie.
I'm the co-founder of "Art & Food in Rome" a small company run by me and my husband Sab together with friends and colleagues who like me are all official tour guides of Rome, Archeologists, Food and Wine Experts (sommeliers). Our common passion is Rome!! We all grown between Rome and the Roman Castles. My second main passion is cooking, I’ve been working in food area since I was a young girl. Together with Sab we organize real fun cooking classes where we teach tips and secrets of italian gastronomy.

From the time we got off the train at Castel Gandolfo, Ale made us feel quite welcome with coffee and local baked goods and stories about how she grew up with these local vendors. It was heartwarming that so many people greeted her, and us, revealing the genuine friendliness of these country-side Italians. Her tour through the Popes summer home was enlightening while the tour of her village shoppes and food was some of the tastiest I've had anywhere. This was a great and easy day trip out of Rome and Ale made it greater still.

Our time with Laura was an unique local foodie experience, which we appreciate was coupled with the Papal Summer home tour. We truly enjoyed it all. Laura’s passion for history (tour credentials are superb) & local foods shine!! All the local picks were a perfect combination! Morning coffee-bar, fresh pizza, appetizer w/local wine & the grand finale for an excellent pasta lunch was like foodie-heaven! Fantastico!!
