What you'll do

A regenerating beautiful day surrounded by wild landscapes and rolling hills in the Monferrato area (Piedmont) discovering an heroic viticulture.

After a relaxing walk among the lines of the 70 years-old vineyard, olive groves and fruit plants, enjoyng the fresh air of the countryside, we enter the wine cellar hidden in a little village, part of an old building used in the past by Vittorio Emanuele II the King.

Several type of organic local wines are tasted directly from the barriques to better understand all the wine production phases.
We visit the fermentation room, the barrique "cave", the label room and the tasting rooms where to enjoy the marvellous view of the hilly landscape, discovering interesting and peculiar stories of the winemaker Tommaso and his creations.

From the vineyards growing to the wine making procedures in the wine cellar, he produces his wine in the most possible ecological and natural way (using new techniques such as the use of essential oils to defeat plant deseases). His wines have a well defined and structured personality.
Other things to note
Remember to bring comfortable shoes to walk on the vineyard, weather permitting

People says that I am an eccentric winemaker. I produce "personal wines" since 2004, as a self-taught wine artesan. I have consciously chosen to enhance the history of my vineyards, restoring vineyards that had long since been forgotten by time. I use the most ecological and natural methods (essential oil included, to defeat plant deseases) to grow them and to produce wine in the cellar. My wines are alive and they change every year.. vini vivi e dimenticati (alive and forgotten wines) is my company (Asotom)' slogan, indeed.
Every bottle contains the essence of that year, the vineyard’s expressivity, and my signature—the personal idea of the winemaker. These are wines with a story to tell and emotions to make you feel.

Super consigliato!

This is an unforgettable experience and was truly a highlight of our trip. On a historic site, once used by the King Vittorio Emanuele II, with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, we were guided through the fermentation room, wine cellar and labeling room. We sampled wine directly out of oak wine barrels in the cave. The wines are amazing! We then moved to a terrace where we tasted local wines, paired with a cheese and olive tasting (I highly recommend this addition to your tour, if offered). As we listened to the stories of our host and the passion that led him here, the afternoon drifted into tranquility and seemed magical, even surrealistic. Tommaso and Sara are truly captivating and endearing. We felt as if we were among old friends. Tommaso’s wines, and their history, have as complex and fascinating a personality as he. Excellent!

Tommaso and Sara tour of their winemaking felt very unique. They listened attentively to our questions they must have heard many times before and gave many thoughtful answers. The tour was intimate and in detail with no selling. We'd highly recommend this experience.
