What you'll do

At first, we will meet in Üsküdar and take a boat to Anadoluhisarı which is a local town in northern Istanbul. We'll enjoy the view of the Bosphorus while cruising to reach the places we'll visit. After that, we will head to Anatolian fortress and then to Kucuksu Pavillion which was built for the last Ottoman Sultan to host royal and valuable guests from around the world in the 19th century.
After our trip to these historical places, we'll head to a lovely little neighbourhood called Cengelkoy. Here we'll have tea and bagel which is the most typical and basic Turkish food&drink combination while we are enjoying the unique view of Bosphorus and the bridge.

When I travel to overseas I always love to find out places where locals hang out most and spend their usual days in order to observe more about their lifestyle and daily routine so I planned a trip to show you guys more local-less touristic places as it would be a different experience for you! As my tour is off-the tourist route, you will be away from the crowded city centre where Covid-19 risk is higher.

Other things to note;
The tour is available from Tuesday to Friday. The boat has indoor and outdoor seating so no need to worry about weather conditions and crowd. Please note that the boat departs at 11.45, if you arrive to the meeting point late, we have to take the public bus.

Hi!
I was born and raised in a little neighbourhood near Bosphorus, in Istanbul. Studied and worked in several countries in Europe and the Middle East. As an ex-cabin crew and a person who worked in the tourism, travelling, interacting with people and exploring new places are my biggest passions!
I believe I've gained enough experience as a tour guide in Istanbul when I hosted my friends from all around the world and I know a lot about this huge metropole.
Can't wait to meet and share this experience with you guys!

Where you'll be

After cruising through Bosphorus, we'll see the Anatolian fortress which is the oldest Ottoman structure in Istanbul. Then the next stop is the pavilion that was used by the last Ottoman sultan and also Ataturk who is the founder of the Republic of Turkey. The last stop is a local town named Cengelkoy where we will have some rest and snacks.

I had an absolutely delightful time on this tour. Looking at the Asian part of Istanbul through Dilek's storytelling was beautiful. I learned so much about Turkish culture and history. Highly recommended!

Dilek is a friendly, intelligent guide with a great love of her city and enthusiasm for showing visitors areas of Istanbul they would probably not see without local knowledge. We had a great day exploring a pretty neighbourhood and and old Ottoman palace. Dilek speaks excellent English and we had great chats about travelling and modern life in Turkey. Well worth spending some time with her while you’re in Istanbul.
