What you'll do
Meet your host at an easy-to-find central location near Beijing’s Lama Temple. Then set off by private tuk-tuk into the alleys and courtyards of the city’s old hutongs — Beijing’s original residential districts. Absorb the historical atmosphere and as you explore, learn about traditional daily life here, including local cuisine.
Delve into the bustling lanes and enjoy up to four food stops to sample local specialities, heading off the beaten path to small family restaurants that you wouldn’t find on your own. At each stop, sample a local staple and learn how it’s been made in the same way for generations. Dishes may vary, but expect to savor noodles, grill meat on open flames, and wrap ingredients into freshly made Beijing wraps. Between tastings, chat with your host over unlimited local beer and sodas, and finish with one of Beijing’s best craft beers at this hutong bar and enjoy a glass of your chosen brew.

Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking.

Where you'll be
Most of the places that we visit on the tour are small family-run eateries that are open for a long time and frequented by locals. We visit the same eateries every night on the tour so we know that the food is safe and consistent in quality. The bar that we visit at the end of the tour is family friendly.

This was a great opportunity to see (and taste) something I couldn’t do on my own. We dove into the hutongs via tuktuks, visited 4 small restaurants each with a different ethnic course, and ended in a lively brew pub. Sabrina made us feel welcome, offered beer and drinks often, and made it fun. It was a full and unique nite. Thanks.

Nice food tour. Very professionally done. Sabrina was a great guide and showed us 4 great places where we eat from the neighbourhood restaurants which is off the beaten path. Food was good and unique which you won’t find at commercial restaurants. Sabrina coordinated our group of 10 very well including ensuring we have transport back when the tour finishes. Great experience and recommended if you have done the normal touristy stuff and looking for a new experience. Nice.

great tour, authentic eateries off the beaten track, places you will never find yourself (even if you knew the address ), adventurous tuk tuk rides from place to place.
Which dish will be your favorite? Difficult to decide. ..probably the meat bun - so simple, so delicious!
