What you'll do
Meet me downtown at the bike container on the North side of 3rd St between Colorado and Congress. I'll make sure your bike fits and that you know how to use them. We'll go over safe braking, shifting gears, our route and both the formal and informal rules of the road.
Then, we'll set out in search of Austin's bountiful outdoor artistic, natural and cultural offerings.
We'll bike at a chill pace from iconic spot to spot, never more than a couple miles at a time before stopping to learn something new and take photos.
Along the way you'll get to see many of Austin's most famous landmarks as well as take a deeper dive into a local's eye view of Austin's food truck parks, breweries, murals, hidden gems and best of nature!
You'll end up where you started with time to rest and refresh yourself before dinner.
Other things to note
The full route is about 12 miles. There are a few hills. There will be options along the way to abbreviate or extend based on how you feel and what you want to see. Overall be ready for three hours of moderate activity.

I'm a native Texan, professional tour guide and avid cyclist! I've worked as a taxi driver and bicycle messenger for years and know Austin's streets better than anyone! I'm bootstrapping a travel company that takes student groups to Cuba and I've led many of those groups. Ages ago I lived and worked as a mountain bike guide in Antigua, Guatemala. I've also led tours in California and Panama.

Where you'll be
From S Lamar to Auditorium Shores on the Hike and Bike. Then, tuck into the neighborhood on Bouldin and South 1st. Ride down Congress to the bat bridge then cross over Town Lake and onto Rainey. From there it's East along 4th and Caesar Chavez then back to town on 6th St. At Congress we'll to the Capitol before bombing back down and West on 3rd, past Seaholm Station, over the pedestrian bridge and back to the start.

This was the first thing we did after landing in Austin. Fantastic way to get your bearings and an overview of the city.
Ryan was a brilliant guide. The tour was extensive and very detailed. Great value and one of the best tours we’ve done.

This experience was amazing and Ryan was a fantastic host! It was great to see Austin by bike, and we covered a lot of nature and city with many stops along the way so it never got too tiring. Ryan knew a lot about Austin and obviously loves sharing his city with visitors. And to top it off, he even rode back a few miles to fetch a bag that we had set down and left by accident at one of our stops! The bag had our phones and car keys, so this could have definitely ruined the rest of our vacation, but Ryan came to the rescue! Thanks for a great day!
