What you'll do

If you like history, pastry and walking, join me for an exploration of the Eiffel tower neighborhood !
While walking around, we will make a trip in the past : we will discuss the evolution of the district in the time, from the Middle Ages to the modern era. You will know how the area looked like 400 years ago, you will learn about the building of the Invalides by Louis the XIV, you will be introduced to the fantastic history of the Eiffel tower.

We will meet at the "Esplanade des Invalides". We will first get within the Invalides settings, before going deeper in the narrow streets of the Eiffel Tower district.

Along the way, we will see:
* quiet and hidden streets and pathways
* charming white churches
* vintage food shops (bakeries, groceries, cafés)
* Art nouveau buildings
* an open air market in a pedestrian street.

We will make a stop at the terrace of a typical Parisian café. Here, we will sip a capuccino (or any other hot beverage of your choice) and taste French pastry.
Finally, we will head to the Champ de mars area and finish at the feet of the Eiffel tower.
Other things to note
Have good walking shoes, take your camera, be curious and enjoy!

I've been living in the Eiffel tower area for more than 15 years. I am passionnate about French history and urban evolution of Paris. I find nothing else more fascinating than staring at an historic plan of the city from the 15th or 17th century and try to spot the settings, the streets that i know. I love to share all this with other people.
I am also a "cafés" and food shops lover. In the morning, there's a 100% chance you find me at the counter of my favorite bar having my daily coffee macchiato. This is where I will take you to.
