My husband and I were travelling through East Iceland on our honeymoon. We passed by hundreds of farms with sheep and frolicking baby lambs, and really wanted to stop and explore one, but were wary of trespassing. At the last minute, air bnb recommended this tour as something to do near our hostel, so we thought...why not....let's check it out!
The tour was very well done. Bergþóra has been on the farm since he was a kid and is very knowledgeable about the sheep and eager to share his knowledge. We heard a lot of stories, met a lot of animals, and even got to witness a few lambs being born. Also as an extra treat we got to hold some baby goats and newborn puppies! My husband and I are from quite a rural area ourselves, but we were still fascinated in learning how they care for the sheep in Iceland. We had a great time, took some adorable photos, and learned a lot. Of course childbirth can be a bit messy, but I personally enjoyed that part the most, and you can always look away until they get cleaned up and fluffy! Thank you again Bergþóra!
