Learn the art of Kintsugi— the way of fixing broken porcelain with lacquer and dusted gold. During this class you will learn a brief history of kintsugi, the way of fixing broken pieces together by applying lacquer and dusted gold (not real gold metal).
Normally, kintsugi takes over a month to finish, however, for this workshop, I will show you how you can finish a piece in few hours.
You'll leave with your own Kintsugi piece as a souvenir.

All materials are provided including a small piece of porcelain for fixing.

I am a visual artist, print maker, and ceramic artist with over 5 years of experience. My work has been exhibited worldwide. I learned kintsugi when I moved to Japan 3 years ago. Since then, I have fallen in love with this technique and its philosophy. I am happy to share with you my knowledge.

Where you'll be

This workshop will take place in my home in the central part of Tokyo, close to Roppongi. We are surrounded by trees and a shrine so I hope you will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
The closest station is Shirokanetakanawa or Azabujuban.

I visit Japan often, sightseeing on my own and keeping costs down. Sometimes I feel like I miss out on relating to others about the culture, because I don’t go on tours, and I travel mostly by myself. The time I spent with Ewelina was very rewarding, and the cost was affordable.

I highly recommend this workshop. Ewelina was very friendly, fun, calm and insightful. I learnt the basics of Kintsugi but I loved the most to hear her opinions about creativity, friendship, japanese culture, etc. I enjoyed very much the conversation while working in the Kintsugi piece.

Ewelina led a great workshop! I never thought that I could learn kintsugi, but her guidance left me with the confidence to buy the supplies after the workshop to continue practicing. Thank you!

Great experience - we learned about an unusual art form not many Japanese seem to know about, and also learned a little bit about life in Japan from the perspective of a foreigner. Ewelina is passionate about her art and a great conversationalist on many other subjects besides!

Warsztaty były jednym z najciekawszych elementów całej wyprawy do Japonii. Po powrocie znalazłem w kintsugi swoją prawdziwą pasję. Ewelina jest zawodową rzeźbiarką i podczas warsztatów widać jej profesjonalizm i lata praktyki. Jednocześnie buduje bardzo domową przyjazną atmosferę. Stanowczo każdemu mogę polecić naukę kintsugi u niej:)
