Perfumery Workshop at Green Cart Farm

Cornwall, United Kingdom

Experience hosted by Shonna

3 hours
Includes food, equipment
Up to 4 people
Hosted in English

What you'll do

After a quick meet and greet we will begin in the perfume garden and hedgerows collecting flowers, botanicals, roots and resins for essential oil extraction.

Once we have enough material we move to the distillery where we will extract essential oils, hydrosols and resins for your perfumes. During the distilling we will make a group Eau de Toilette from seasonal flowers.

After extraction we will begin our scent selection in the Perfumery with local and exotic essential oils. You will learn to use a perfume organ and recognise top, middle, base note balance as well as fixing and blending. You will make a small perfume and a medium sized cologne with the blend of oils and extracts that we have harvested on the day.

At the end of the class we will package and bottle your creations with antique labels, tiny bottles and old fashioned wax seals.

You will amble with the other guests to one of our Shepherds Huts for an afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones, patisserie and refreshments. You are welcome to enjoy our lake, woodlands, walks, and friendly farm animals after your tea.
Other things to note
We are a rustic farm venue with off grid facilities, rural charm and friendly farm animals. The distillery and workshops are drafty and we will be walking across fields and gardens.

A truly wonderful experience - both incredibly informative and also lovely to practically make the perfumes and have something to take away at the end. A unique and beautiful setting on a working farm and started by picking the flowers and herbs for the perfumes. Had a delicious homemade afternoon tea. All in all an experience not to be missed.

Spent a wonderful few hours learning about perfume distilling with Shonna. What can I say... a beautiful location, working with beautiful fresh ingredients collected from the farm, and guided by the knowledge and expertise of Shonna herself. Plus, the afternoon tea was an extra treat. Absolutely loved it!
