What you'll do

Join me on one of my 'Green Zone' tours, a play on post-quake Christchurch words. In the aftermath anywhere that the land was considered unstable was labelled as "red-zoned".
On one of my Green Zone tours we will visit the vibrant and untouched Avon & Otakaro Network. A 600 hectare area, formally the Christchurch red zone, that once had roughly 7000 homes across it now has been given the opportunity for nature to flourish unimpeded. Ghost roads are surrounded by grasslands and fruit trees.
By cycling, lime scootering and walking I will provide stories, history and insight into all things Christchurch.
Starting in the city centre at the historic Arts Centre we will casually make our way the 2 kilometres out to the head of the Otakaro network. From here we will visit the Richmond Community Gardens, the "Greening Rubble" project, the Avonside Blog Memorial and make our way along the riverside Avon trail.
After your brief culture and history lesson about Christchurch, it's earthquakes and the aftermath I will return you to the Arts Centre. Here we can have a coffee at the wonderful cafe there and you can ask me any burning question you have about Christchurch and just hang out.
Other things to note
Customised to your needs, tours for young and old with various transport options available. Bike bookings please leave 24 hours notice if possible.

With over 10 years in hospitality and tourism and a lifetime in Otautahi, Christchurch, I'm the perfect guide to show you around The Garden City's magical but little known secrets.
Born and bred in this city I have travelled far and wide and love sharing cultures, languages and experiences with people from all walks of life. I have travelled to 45 countries, lived abroad for 3 years, speak 2 languages other than english and have spent the last 4 years showing everybody from broke backpackers to super wealthy retirees around New Zealand. I am extremely knowledgeable about NZ, our history and our culture and would love to share some of this experience with you all :)

Where you'll be

The heart of our beautiful city we'll start our tour at the iconic Arts Centre. Shockingly earthquake damaged this historical site is a great place to start before wending our way down the Avon River to the Otakaro network. Following the traditional trade route you'll be introduced to local Maori history, wild life and beautiful scenery. Finishing at the Richmond Community Garden and the Greening Rubble Project to explore the orchards.

Great tour which gives you a perspective on how Christchurch has been affected by the earthquake, whilst also showing how the city has bounced back and used the space to help the community with playgrounds and gardens.

I really enjoyed this experience with Levi and felt I gained insight into the place that I could not have otherwise. Levi has a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for Christchurch and its huge potential as it recovers and rebuilds, and showed my inspiring parts of town. He is also highly experienced in tourism and showed professionalism and unobtrusive care, along with providing a personal, informal and friendly experience. We share a great interest in community, creativity and environment and so had some great conversations along the way. The bike ride is easy and enjoyable, the locations we went to interesting, and I definitely came away feeling more informed. Highly recommended.

The tour was very informative, Levi's local knowledge was vast. Exploring parts of Christchurch that many locals are unaware of made it well worth while. Levi is a great guide. His experience in guiding tour groups really shone through. The terrain is very flat, making it an easy ride for most. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
