What you'll do

Starting with the ingredients and their geographical provenience we will cook a real Mexican dinner with many dishes from different areas of the country. My class has the goal of giving the participants all the details so they can go home and reproduce the real taste of Mexico in their home and revive some experiences of their trip every time they like. The class will be accompanied by anecdotes, history and music to really breathe the essence of the country I chose to live and raise my kids. The dinner will be served in a nice outdoor palm palapa and accompanied with Mexican wine.
Other things to note
You do not need to bring anything with you: just your appetite for knowledge and... food

I won an Italian Cuisine Worldwide Award in 2012 in Moscow and I am an official Master Chef of Italian Cuisine, and I have lived in Mexico for 22 years.
The best way to understand the difference in a cuisine as antique and specific as the Mexican cuisine is by comparing it with the other occidental gastronomic cultures to easily catch the difference in ingredients, techniques and tastes.
With my class and dinner I will travel through Mexico not only in a gastronomical way but also in an anthropological approach to a culture linked to maiz. The recipes we will prepare together are specially chosen for you to be able to find the ingredients wherever you live and reproduce real Mexican flavours.

Highly recommend this Mexican cooking class with Silvia in the privacy of her lovely home. Silvia designed a menu that was very personalized and that was not easy given our family's very different food preferences....and it was wonderful. We had the opportunity to "learn and do" during the class, to ask questions, to laugh and then enjoy the delicious, passionately prepared dishes and margaritas. This is definitely a "must do" experience while in La Paz.

Fun cooking demonstration class. Silvia is very knowledgeable about Mexican cooking and food science in general. Nice printout of the recipes. Silvia is personable and made us feel welcome in her kitchen. Dinner was delicious.

Far better than I expected . Silvia is a master chef and a gracious host . The food was delicious -- by far the best we'be had in LA Paz. I'm not a cook so I didn't expect it to be as interesting as it was. I learned a lot of information that will be useful to me as a non-cooking eater. And it was fun.

First the food was delicious and Sylvia was enthusiastic. However we felt the session was disorganized and didn't seem professional. There were several incidents that made us wonder about the food preparation. Cleanliness and cross contamination was a concern. The prawns with cream sauce were served with the shell on so we were peeling hot shrimp with cream with our hands which was very messy. The shells should have been removed from the prawns before cooking. The pork dish was very tasty but tough to chew. The table for 4 was very small and there were 7 of us. We were all trying to find a small space for ourselves at the table. With improvements this could be a better
