What you'll do

Visiting this area of Mexico City by bike is the best way to get the look and feel of Roma and Condesa to pick and choose destinations to further explore and experience its spaces, people, and flavors.

Two of the most Iconic and vibrant neighborhoods of Mexico City hold many hidden treasures, architectural landmarks from the late 1800s French Porfiriato style, modern and deco, Mexican mid-century and more.

This part of the city has suffered huge transformations from its bourgeois origins to the flight to the suburbs, and two major earthquakes that have decimated its landmarks and at the same time, enriched its eclectic contemporary style.

When you ride through its streets and paths you are encased by old trees. It is an architectural scavenger hunt, with pop culture and culinary treasures hidden in every corner. We can visit traditional bakeries dating back 75 years, to the most up to date Mexican cuisine, a traditional Cantina where the same recipes have been served for decades or the corner stand where "tlacoyos," "quesadillas" and "sopes" are hand made to order.
Other things to note
This is a ride for all levels though you should be able to ride 20 - 25 miles distance and a pace of 12 - 13 mph. If you require a bike, you will receive instructions on how to confirm the rental at VeloGuide.com.

My name is Jillian, one of the co-founders of VeloGuide which was launched in October 2017 as a bold new initiative to connect the traveling cyclist with a bike and a guide all across the globe. I will be your virtual host and Rodrigo will be your VeloGuide in Mexico City.

Cycling in Mexico City is a fantastic way to discover the historical beauty and experience its unique culture. I understand that when visiting a big city, getting out on a road bike ride can be overwhelming. Traffic, safe routes, fear of getting lost and finding a bike can make the idea a non-starter. Rodrigo or Federico will take all the guesswork out of it and you will truly be able to #ridelikealocal. His local knowledge and love of cycling make this experience unique!
