What you'll do

Ahoy, landlubbers!

At the moment all touristic tours are forbidden by law in Hamburg. We all hope for better times. Please come back in summer. Take care!

We follow in the tracks of sailors and dockers on the Elbe. A stiff breeze on your face, the Elbe downstream, 130 years of architecture, a sandy beach under your feet and time to enjoy. We defy wind and weather. Feel like a hamburger :) I'll tell and show you something about the hard life of dock workers around 1900. And of course ships, ships, ships: from barges to super freighters.
From the "Old Elbtunnel" to the historic "Landungsbrücken", there we board the ferry. Passing the historic fish auction hall with its great industrial architecture and the fish market, you continue on the banks of the Elbe, where the captains used to live. Once at the Finkenwerder pilot station and back to Övelgönne, the museum harbor, which we visit and a trip to the beloved Elbe beach. THERE THE TOUR ENDS!

My job has taken me around the world, but coming back to Hamburg is always the best thing for me :) You can feel that when you are on the road with me. With strong impressions, interesting stories and good feelings!
Fewer facts and figures, a little wind blowing around your nose, some sailor yarn, visiting the most beautiful places on the banks of the Elbe and letting go!
Hamburg has no queen and no castle, but has been an important port for 830 years. I've known him since I was a child.

Where you'll be

Our little adventure is a mix of boat trip, walk and time jump into the 19th century. We are exactly between high tech and meaningful history.
If there is no tour on the calendar at any day, please contact me, nothing is impossible :)
As you can see, we are a small intense group.

I can only recommend the event. You learn many interesting facts about Hamburg and its port around the 19th century and get to see spots you don't normally see. But the best part of it is the host. He is an original and a very open person with a great sense of humor. The communication beforehand was also excellent. Great fun!

Trotz miesen Wetter waren Orte und Erzählung so spannend, das das nicht gestört hat. Es macht Spaß auch mal das „ andere Hamburg“ abseits der Klassiker kennen zu lernen.

We had a wonderful time, and learned a lot about Hamburg, the port, the Elbetunnel, and so much else! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys learning a bit of history in a very small group setting.

Volker’s knowledge and story telling of Hamburg and it’s harbour were fascinating. Despite the rain he managed to impart so many interesting facts that even my husband and I were impressed when our daughters re told Volker’s facts again later in the day!! The tour was a good length, well structured and gave us a good basis for beginning the exploration of the city of Hamburg.
