What you'll do

You'll arrive at our place, You will meet and see our pigs, chickens, geese, and sheep, and also our friendly farm dogs and farm cats. We will talk and walk about the farm, show you how we care for the animals and plants. You will see our farm tools including our tractor and learn about how we use them. You will learn about the ancient acequia system, ie the way we water our farm. We will talk about our greenhouse and our high tunnel. will also talk about the industrial food system and the struggle of building a local foodshed. You will leave with food from the farm to take home and eat, one dozen eggs, a pound of pork and whatever seasonal vegetables and herbs are available. Later at home, while you eat, we hope you will reflect and talk about and consider our interconnected relationship with the Earth, plants, animals, and the people you rely upon to sustain your existence.
Other things to note
You'll be harvesting food on a working farm, and cooking your breakfast in an open-air, camp-style kitchen. Everything on your plate will be grown and raised on our farm, or within a five-mile radius.

We are farmers and we are regenerating a farm that has existed for over 200 years. We are a long time Airbnb hosts. The Eco-farm house, and our University Bungalow and University Casita, are cool places to stay. We have been farming and practicing permaculture in the Middle Rio Grande Valley for more than 25 years. We are leaders in the local sustainable foodshed of the greater Albuquerque area. We have created urban habitats for plants, trees, insects, animals, and people. We love the Earth, we love people, and we love farming, we have a passion for our connection with our food, which brings us great joy. We're not messing around--we have grown thousands of pounds of food for our family, friends, neighbors. Now we want to feed you. We are serious about you having a positive experience.
