What you'll do

My self or my brother hassan brahim we are your guide and we will meet you outside of Cafe France at 8:30 am in Jemaa el Fna square
Marrakesh.
This trip offers a spectacular opportunity to observe the best part of Morocco, the authentic life in Imlil, a Berber village, located in the High Atlas Mountains.

You will be driving towards the high Atlas Mountains via Tahnaouet where you will stop for a camel ride.

Following the ancient Berber trails, traverse winding dirt tracks, passing earthen Berber houses, you will enjoy the scenery of High Atlas. There will be numerous photo stops along the way to capture the beauty of the snow-capped Mt Toubkal (4160 m), the highest peak of North Africa.

Before arriving at Imlil, you will have a short stop at the Argan Oil Co-operative where women turn the Argan nut into Argan Oil-based products.

At Imlil, you will cross the ancient irrigated barley, corn, and vegetable terrace fields, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. The local Berber guide will explain about the Berber culture and heritage.

After lunch, you will have an easy hike through Imlil to the waterfall, passing beautiful valleys and views. The trekking is not complicated, suitable for all ages travellers. Instead of trekking, you can also rest in the Berber home and relax with a Moroccan tea and majestic High Atlas Mountain View.

My name is Mustapha Born and raised, I am of the Berber heritage and I’m immensely proud to have our family generation’s roots based in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, in the village of Imlil, the hiking gateway to Mount. Toubkal, and just one hour from the bustling city of Marrakech.
As I think back to my early childhood growing up in the mountains, I reminisce guests visiting our family home where we would welcome and host their presence during their backpacking expeditions and their travelling excursions providing us with immense opportunities experiencing such gatherings. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have travelled along with my father giving me additional opportunities to explore gaining further experience and memories…From late nights camping in tents in the Atlas Mountains enjoying traditionail .

Mustapha collected us from Marrakesh for our trip, to his wonderland where he showed me not just the beauty of this land and glorious food but also huge kindness! It was my birthday and by just mentioning it once, Mustapha made sure I was surprised properly with a yummy cake!!! I couldn't belive my eyes! After an entire day of fun, gorgeous sights, meeting many intriguing people and hearing interesting stories, I got to experience kindness like I never expected! I will never forget my birthday thanks to Mustapha !!! Thank you so much! This tour was the highlight of my trip. I could completely let go to the experience. I was safe and well taken care of. There was a lot of walking up a mountain involved (so for anyone interested be prepared for it) and a fun camel ride at the end of the day! The people you will encounter are extremely friendly so there is no need to worry. I wouldn’t recommend a trip to marrakech and not visiting the Atlas Mountains as the visit was super cultural and really allowed me to explore properly fulfilling my whole Moroccan experience. Completely and 100% Recommended!
