What you'll do

We will meet at the Good Hope Gardens Nursery in Cape Point and start at the Veld and Sea kitchen classroom, where I work teaching about sustainable and seasonal indigenous edible and medicinal plants. Here you can take a look around and have a welcome drink of fynbos iced tea made with wild botanicals from the area. Then we we will go on a short information filled walk/stroll/meander up the mountain and summit to a rocky outcrop for a little wild flavoured picnic snack with gorgeous panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean on both Scarborough and Cape Point sides. We will descend and make our way down to the landmark turquoise windmills, through the farm and back to the start. A sensory experience in discovery of the here and now in the form of an edible walk on the wild side.
Other things to note
Please bring your own sunscreen, weather gear (sunhat/sunscreen/rain or wind jackets) comfortable walking shoes & water. This walk is suitable for kids used to hiking as it is an easy walking terrain.

Nature and food are my passion, and when I am travelling these are always my guides. I live and work on a small holding nestled in between a mountainside and the Cape Point Nature Reserve, so I am a true local! As a host I am very excited to let you experience some of the many hidden pockets of unspoiled beauty - there is adventure waiting around every corner, just begging to be explored.
