About your host

Diego Bonetto is a wild food advocate based in Sydney, most famous for his offering of urban foraging workshops. He promotes new understandings of what the environment has to offer. Diego's workshops have been named as one of the best food walks of Sydney by the Daily Telegraph, featured on SBS TV and radio, ABC TV and radio and in various other magazines like Vogue Australia, GQ and Marie Claire.

What we’ll do

We will go for a walk along a green area and learn about the plants living in it. As we identify them we will talk about ecology and traditional uses, gather and taste a few. Guests will receive a booklet detailing some of the plants and a follow up email with links for further research. No previous experience necessary, just bring along your keen eyes for the nature of the antipodeans.

What else you should know

Bring your camera and note book, dress for the weather. This is an all weather event, we would only cancel in case of heavy rain or strong wind.

Where you'll be

We will walk along the Cooks River, a small water body in the Inner West of Sydney, home to a great variety of coastal, fresh water and scrub species. We will identify and learn about a minimum of 20 edible and/or medicinal plants.
