What you'll do
We'll visit the Tetetlán Cultural Center in Pedregal. The space merges a restaurant, coffee-shop, library, mezcaleria and yoga studio standing on the former stables of Luis Barragan's "Casa Pedregal". I'll give you a brief introduction to Barragan's work and it's relevance to Mexican architecture. After exploring the space for a few minutes we'll continue with a mezcal tasting. The tasting is designed to explore different types of agaves and production techniques; giving you a solid introduction to this mysterious and delicious spirit.
I'm an Agave Spirits expert with over 10 years of experience tasting, distilling and promoting all different expressions of Agave; be it Mezcal, Tequila, Tepe, Raicilla, Ixcateco, Sotol (even if it doesn't technically comes from an Agave) and so on. I've lectured around Mexico and have been invited a few times to the US to talk about my work. Currently I have a podcast in the works with two other Agave Spirits connoisseurs (Lou Bank and Jay Schneider) that will be do a takeover of the Heritage Radio's "Speak Easy" (recorded at Roberta's in Bushwick NY).
A 3 mezcal flight specially designed to give you a solid introduction to Agave Spirits.
