What you'll do

The non-tidal River Thames is an area of outstanding natural beauty. We will take you under the Grade II listed 1867 Cookham Bridge. Then we'll go upstream to Marlow for a view of the weir, a 1832 Grade I suspension bridge, and All Saint's Church. We'll pass Bourne End Marina and Wootens Boatyard on the way. On the way, we will travel up Spade Oak Reach, the longest reach on the River Thames while we provide snacks, nibbles, and soft drinks. With a full canopy we can ensure everyone stays cozy and onboard whatever the weather.
Other things to note
Bring a camera and any alcoholic drinks you might want. We may have to cancel at short notice if the Environment Agency advises river conditions are unsuitable for navigation.

We live right by the river and regularly use our 21-foot electric boat for trips between Marlow and Cookham. We love to have people come with us for a picnic trip so we can show off the natural beauty of the area and look at the riverside properties.

Where you'll be

We will meet in Holy Trinity Churchyard and take a short walk to the boat. We will take you on a round trip from Cookham Bridge to Marlow Weir. Along the way you will see riverside properties and boats, and admire the natural beauty. We might spot river birds and other wildlife along the way.

Unique experience! We went through the river around the Cookham Lock, what a beautiful area in the river full of picturesque landscaping and exquisite houses. Andrew was very very kind, we could even get to see his lovely family from the river. The boat is comfortable, even if the day is not sunny I reckon it is worth it! I am glad we can have special experiences like that through Airbnb.

We had a lovely time with captain Andrew on his boat on the Thames! They provided some snacks and drinks (thank you for the special vegan items!) which we enjoyed as we went down the river. It was a perfect day - sunny and hot - so the canopy on the boat provided some welcome shade. Chatted with Andrew about boats and river-living and some local sights. Went through the Cookham Locks twice, which was fun to experience and be “in” vs watching from the side. Gorgeous countryside, quiet electric motor on the boat made talking easy, and a low key relaxing way to spend a couple hours. Thank you Andrew and Sheridan!

Highlight of our trip! We loved learning about this part of the Thames, life in the town, and enjoyed the relaxed pace and beautiful boat. We loved going through the locks.
