Die Unterkunft zu finden schien zunächst schwierig, da der Fahrer es gewohnt war, eine mündliche Weg Beschreibung zu bekommen. Es gibt keine Straßennamen! Und!: Ich hatte mit meiner dtsch Simcard keinen Empfang. Birgit hat auf meine Nachricht über das Handy vom Fahrer - wie immer - schnell reagiert… und erklärte dem Fahrer den Weg. So ging es perfekt! Sehr schön ruhig gelegen! Ich fühlte mich sicher!! Frühstück sehr liebevoll und abwechslungsreich! Auf dem Balkon mit etwas Einblick in das nachbarschaftliche Wohnen. Mein Zimmer war sehr geräumig, alles bestens! Schon vor meiner Ankunft regelmäßig Kontakt! Birgit spürt sofort, was man braucht: Ob Ruhe oder das Gegenteil, Infos und schnelle Alternativen, falks etwas nicht geht, Infis über das gambische Leben,….Verhaltensregeln, die gut funktionieren,…. Man ist bei Birgit und Amadou super aufgehoben!!!

Mama folonko es el lugar ideal para disfrutar en plena naturaleza de playas virgenes y puestas de sol espectaculares en el mar. Un entorno muy autentico!! En la playa reina la calma con solo algunos turistas y algunos locales que transitan por ella. En mama folonko tambien se puede disfrutar de intimidad y privacidad en los bungalows con terraza y vistas al mar El restaurante y las zonas comunes son muy amplias y todo el personal super atento, en todo momento han solventado mis necesidades o dudas. Las cenas con vistas a la puesta de sol son in momento mágico! Jerreh, el chico que gestiona el establecimiento, ha estado en todo momento pendiente de que la estancia en el lugar cumpla con las espectativas. Me ha mostrando los lugares de interés de la zona, y me ha ayudando con el transporte. Todo ello una gran experiencia en el sur de Gambia!! Gracias mama folonko!!

Our staying with Mariama and Lamin was amazing! They picked us up at the airport and we had a delicious dinner with them. The room was big and had everything you needed. Mariama, Lamin and the rest of the crew were very welcoming and helpful! We definetly recommend staying with them :) Abaraka!

Wow! What a fantastic place! I’ve stayed in many places in Gambia, but this one is special! They’ve just “got it right” at this place. The people can’t do enough for you. Karl was fantastic and made sure we were well looked after. The wooden house is well built and has good running water (even if it is sea water) the pressure is great for an eco lodge. Electricity was stable and no cuts. The views from the wooden house really make this place special! It’s peaceful, set in nature with a fantastic beach! Food is also good, compliments to the chef! I just can’t recommend this place enough! Well done Iain and the team at About Time! You’re doing a great job and I will definitely be back!! ❤️

Wer Urlaub auf einem Bauernhof machen möchte, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Der Manager und seine Mitarbeiter sind sehr hilfsbereit und zeigen einem stolz die moderne Agrikulturtechnik. Wenn man den hektischen Hochburgen der Touristenzone entfliehen möchte, kann man sich dort gut erholen.

This was a wonderful stay. The room was amazing. The doors opened up onto the beach so you really hear the ocean and see it from your bed. Lots of space in the room and lovely hot shower. Kembas the hosy was exeptional. He went above and beyond his duties. He organised all my trips and escorted me, along with his lovely taxi driver Osman. His team are spectacular. Always making sure you are ok. They even built me a camp fire in the evening which was lovely. It is a bit breezy in the evning being so close to the coast so bring something warm with you. I felt totally safe and cared for as a solo traveller. These guys are really lovely. Kembas has such a good heart and he is so funny and entertaing too. You will love it.

My family and I had the most wonderful stay at this villa and we really cannot recommend it enough, from the lovely location in a very peaceful street to the lovely villa with all you need for a self catering stay it was flawless, there’s a local shop steps away and the beach is very close too, but the real jewel in this villas crown is Lamin, nothing is ever any trouble and he is literally the most genuine person be around, we all love him and hope to see him again very soon. Thank you Tony and Eileen for sharing your place with us, it was a joy 🤩
