Elm cottage is a great place to escape to and explore the Peak District including Thors Cave, Hartington, Tissington and Mam Tor. Local pubs, cafes and shops are excellent, just a short drive away and public footpaths from on site. We have some local walks from site on National Trust land. Away from the hustle and bustle, this peaceful spot has unrivalled far reaching views of the peaks and your own bench outside to enjoy them, or the stars! The Cosy Stable -Peak District National Park

The cosy stable is located in the beautiful rural and tranquil village of Grindon in the Peak District. Situated 1000 Ft above sea level come and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills and sheep. Overlooking the famous Thor’s Cave, there is an abundance of beautiful walks from the property. Local pubs in Butterton, Hulme End and Warslow. Lovely local towns nearby include Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell and Leek. Grindon is the perfect get away for those craving peace and tranquility.

Dovedale, Milldale and Hartington all wonderful attractions all within 10 mins. NOTE - No WIFI available at the cottage.

Sitting on the borders of the Peak District National Park, the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Derbyshire Dales, you will never be short of somewhere to explore! Located just 20 minutes from Alton Towers theme park, 4 miles from the idyllic market town of Leek and with short drives to other picturesque towns and villages such as Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne your in the heart of the countryside at Swallows Rest.

Shepherd's Watch

Shepherds Watch is set in a lovely part of the country, within the Peak District's National Park. There's plenty to keep you busy with the Manifold Valley just a couple of miles away. This is great for bike riding as well as walking, with Thors cave halfway down the track. Dove Dale and its famous stepping stones is only a 10 minute drive away. And for the thrill seekers Alton Towers is only a 10 minute drive. We have some lovely country pubs within a few miles of Shepherds Watch.
