Welcome to what has to be the “crown jewel” of cottages across Iowa! This place is absolutely beautiful and will make for a great stay for just a short trip or a longer relaxing time away. It is beautifully tucked in the trees off the road, providing peaceful surroundings and a quiet patio to just rest. It’s also so close to many great biking or walking trails. Our family only had one night as we were in town for a wedding but we now desire to come back to see and experience more - it simply is a perfect little cabin for a weekend away or to get a break from the busy lives we live. Mona was so good at communicating and met all our needs willingly. We appreciated the sparkling cleanliness of the cottage and know you’ll love your stay here! Can’t wait to come back! 😀

We enjoyed our stay at the River House. Paul was friendly, very accommodating and we appreciated his responsiveness to questions related to kayaking. The house is nicely renovated and pleasant. We enjoyed the fire pit one evening. It was convenient to launch kayaks from the house. We were able to walk downtown Alden to the Brickhouse for wonderful pizza and The Westside for yummy breakfast.

What a beautiful area! Stayed for a quick trip for a wedding and the walkable trails were a fantastic bonus. Clear easy entry and instructions, cute and quaint place.

Once again, we had a fantastic experience. It was a long, busy weekend but it was always nice to come back to Mike and Bri's peaceful studio to unwind for the night. It's nice to have a comfy, private "home base" while we're in town visiting family. This time we visited Coffee Attic (a fantastic local coffee/book shop), got a manicure at A+ Nails, and went thrifting, all of which were mostly within walking distance. We had some dishes to prepare for Easter and Hy-Vee and Walmart are right down the road. If you're staying in the area it's the perfect spot!

This is our second time staying at Larry’s place. We love how comfortable it is, the beautiful view, and how it has everything we need to feel at home. The outdoor space is so nice! Thank you for providing plenty of towels. 😊 We highly recommend staying here or at one of Larry’s other places.

My sisters and I stayed here and we had a great time! We had everything we needed and it was very relaxing here. The scenery was beautiful with deer walking through in the morning and evening, and many birds at the feeder outside the dining window.

It is a very beautiful cabin! The neighborhood was very friendly and we felt very safe. We were especially thankful that we could take our two large dogs with us. They were very clear with their rules and quick to respond when we had a question. Thank you for sharing your cabin with our family! :)
