Háafell Lodge

Welcome to Háafell Farm where we raise sheep, keep horses and have one friendly dog. Our private guest house is located 200 meters above the farm, up the mountain at 130 meters above sea level. It is a recently built (2020), 100 square meter, modern “turf house style” house. Háafell means “The High Mountain” and has a long river that cascades down its side with several tiers of waterfalls. It is a five minute walk to our canyon and it is possible to take a cold bath in one of the waterfalls.

Heima is a very peaceful apartment located in Ísafjörður. It is located on a quiet street near the mountain. The house is located about 1 km from the main square. Heima is a house owned by a family that built it in 1962. Johann Kroknes, a carpenter from Norway came to Ísafjörður to build this house for his daughter Sigríður that was moving to Ísafjörður after marrying a local shrimp captain, Torfi. We are restoring it to the style that was in the sixties and welcome you to enjoy it with us!

Es ist magisch dort, ich war mit meiner Frau und meinem erwachsenen Sohn, Larus hat uns extrem freundlich in Empfang genommen und gleich mal Feuer im Kaminofen gemacht (wir kamen gegen 23 Uhr an und blieben drei Nächte). Am nächsten Tag gab es tolle hiking Empfehlungen und Einkauf Tipps. Und dann noch die Sammlung der Blaubeeren…es gab in der Summe nichts zu beanstanden, alles war wie erwartet und besser…danke Larus und deiner Frau für die magische Zeit

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt und konnten dank des freundlichen Upgrades des Gastgebers den Whirlpool auf der Terasse genießen. Wir hatten die Unterkunft 5 gebucht, wurden aber einen Tag vor Ankunft auf das größere Haus 4 mit Whirlpool upgrgraded. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet und die wichtigsten Utensilien zum Kochen waren in der Küche verfügbar. Ein Gas-Grill war ebenfalls vor Ort. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, vielen Dank für alles.

Logement très rustique et petit. Certains cadres de porte étaient très bas et on s’y cognait la tête. Il y a un lit simple au dessus du lit double qui était un peu bas. L’hôte était charmante, communiquait bien et nous avons même eu droit à une petite attention spéciale. Merci!

We enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean and comfortable and easy to find. It was conveniently close to many things. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again. We saw the northern lights outside 2 evenings in a row. That was a nice bonus.

We had a fantastic, once in a lifetime experience at Leslie and Greg's home! Everything about this home and our visit was magical - Leslie was a lovely and gracious host who was happy to share some of her favorite places with us. We enjoyed our cozy room and the lovely large bathroom, and the full kitchen and comfortable common space. The surroundings are wild and breathtaking, we enjoyed seal watching on the beach and we even saw an Arctic fox! I highly recommend staying with Leslie and Greg, I certainly hope I can go back to stay again someday.
