Family-friendly holiday rentals in Hook of Holland

Marieke and Den have created a surreal, warmly welcoming paradise. The place is even more beautiful than in the photos - spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and full of mindful, aesthetic details. The beauty lies not only in the decor but also in the little things: the carefully curated books, the wide variety of teas, and the fresh garden herbs available for use. We had contact with both Marieke and Den, and they radiate genuine kindness - while still giving you all the privacy you need. It’s a haven of peace, nature, and presence - the perfect place to find rest and reconnect with yourself. A true place of Zen.

Fred and Kelly’s place is absolutely wonderful. We stayed because the price was better and there was a little more room than many places directly in the city. Though we looked forward to it, we didn’t expect to fall in love with it…and we did! Staying outside of the city is pretty great. It’s a 10ish minute walk to the train station, and then an easy navigation to wherever you need to go. We didn’t mind the “commute” a bit, and it was nice to start off and wind down in a quieter setting. The place itself is well kept, clean, and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We enjoyed casting Netflix on the TV with the fireplace on in the evenings, and we spent a couple of mornings in the garden. We booked this spot our entire stay, but also spent one night in Amsterdam to experience “city life,” and also spent one night in Utrecht. These were perfect additions to our home base plan. I’d definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the apartment for a weekend and felt very comfortable. With the bikes you could easily reach the nearby metro station and we had a good time in Amsterdam. The landlords were very friendly and always easy to reach. I highly recommend this place for Amsterdam stays.

Very nice space and very quit. Gunter welcomed us very kindly and with a nice drink. Jacuzzi was very nice. Thank you for your hospitality Gunter and if we are nearby again we will definitely come back.

Plenty of room, quiet neighborhood. The M5 bus made our commute to Train then Amsterdam easier. (Approx 1 hour). Loved the 2 free bikes available for us to use. The sauna was a lovely bonus to use at night to relax. Moniek’s was resourceful and actively answering our questions. Alot of gadget in the house, no cable on TV so it was hard for my elderly parents to figure out how to use an intelligent tv with Netflix and all but we managed differently. Area was really nice close to the house but Almere centrum gets a bit suspicious at night so be aware to not be a women alone at night coming back -even locals fidy not recommended.

Me and my friend had a very nice stay at Mijke's house. The hot pool and sauna were very nice and easy to warm up. The place was very clean and accurately described. We can only recommend it.

What a fun experience! And what a terrific host! In a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. To say we got to stay on a houseboat in Amsterdam is always going to be a fun memory! But note, it is definitely a boat. You must be fully able bodied to access the boat and get around comfortably inside. The kitchen is suitable for snacks. And as with most European AirBnBs, bring your own bath products.

We had a very nice time! You can see how much love was put into the accommodation and the property! We felt comfortable right away and can only recommend the accommodation! The area is very quiet but still you can get to the supermarket, a restaurant or the beach in a short time by car. There was a travel bed, high chair and toys for our child without us asking for it. We were very happy about that! We will be happy to come back!

Unreal Airbnb! Perfect location. Super clean. The place had absolutely everything you needed. Andrew has been the best Airbnb host I have ever had. He goes above and beyond for his guests and is so helpful for anything.

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Alkmaar! It is close enough to enjoy all that the city has to offer, yet it also provides a beautiful, peaceful escape from the business and crowds. Han and Kelly were great hosts, providing helpful recommendations and even rides from the train station and into Alkmaar. We also enjoyed hanging out with the dog, cat and chickens! We would definitely stay here again.

Lotte's house is simply perfect. Very close to Amsterdam and the airport, but still in a calm, quiet environment. The breakfast was always varied and very tasty. Our little boys loved the chickens. :) Lotte and her husband were incredibly sweet and helpful. We felt great, we would come back anytime! If I could, I would give 10 stars! :) Thank you for everything Lotte!

Insanely beautiful location, nicely centrally located and a little further away on free parking. All in all, certainly repeatable.

We stayed with a group of friends for one night in this great accommodation, in the middle of a bustling part of Rotterdam. The location is great – within walking distance of all kinds of cozy restaurants, perfect for exploring the nightlife and grabbing nice coffee shops and shops during the day. The accommodation itself was fantastic: wonderfully light, spacious and stylishly decorated. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and neatly made up for us. There were also clean, soft towels ready and plenty of coffee and tea available – everything had really been thought of. We have enjoyed enormously and would recommend this stay without hesitation. Definitely a place to come back to!

That was a wonderful stay in a sweet and very cozy accommodation! When we come back to Amsterdam, we definitely want to be accommodated in Astrid's little cozy cottage again! Everything you need is available here. There is also a selection of spices, coffee and tea available as well as sufficient cooking utensils and dishes. The house was very clean and tastefully cozy. The beds were very comfortable too. Shopping facilities are within walking distance, as is the bus stop with a good connection to Amsterdam. All in all, a five-star plus accommodation! Great accommodation and great hosts. We had a lot of fun and felt comfortable. The accommodation was accessible by boat and we could go shopping by boat. It was a real adventure. The accommodation and the pool were clean. Everything was fine for us ☀️

We enjoyed our stay at Wendela's. We were warmly welcomed. The "Rosenhäuschen" was exactly what we had imagined. It was our home away from home. And we'll be back for sure.

Nice tranquil bungalow in a family park with lots to do. Dunes and beach not far away.

We had a wonderful stay at Dominique's 5th floor apartment. It was bright & airy & we felt at home immediately. The views are great & the large balcony is perfect for the afternoon sun/sunsets. There is also a 2nd balcony for the sunrise! And you can walk to the beach for these too, in only 15 minutes. The heated swimming pools(adult & baby pools)are a real hit. The large pool is very rarely busy. We loved it! You need to wear swimming caps, but once bought that wasn't a problem, as everyone wears one. They can be purchased in the small office in the pool apartment block. There are shops & restaurants within walking distance. The tram stop & train station are a 10 minute walk. We took a tram to Oostende & a train to Bruges. Fares are inexpensive. Kitchen facilities are excellent, coffee N'Espresso machine with pods & biscuits to start us off! A nice touch. Dominique is a very responsive & attentive host. Beds were very comfy. We had a really great stay. Just book it!!

Magdalena welcomed us very kindly and lovingly took care of us. Although we did not book breakfast, she provided us with bread and other treats. The apartment matches the description, the location is beautiful. We will be happy to come back!

We (group of friends) were at the cottage for the 3rd time. It is a wonderful, cozy, very complete house. You have everything you need. Just do it!
