Heating is provided by a soapstone oven and two stoves. Electricity is produced with solar energy only in the darkest months, recharging the batteries with an aggregate. Wood-burning sauna in the same building. The outdoor toilet is composted and odorless. Kainuu Nature Trips rents electric fatty bikes, gliding shoes and canoeing equipment.
