A wood-burning stove and nature in the Nishikagura no Mori

MichaelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Maria (Yuko) and Takuro were amazing hosts, and their house was a cozy place to spend a few nights in the countryside. The area around Asahikawa is stunning, and there were beautiful views of the mountains from the house. The food was delicious, we had one meal seated outside cooking on the wood burning stove, I especially liked the tempura. Maria was really thoughtful about making sure I was able to find activities in the area I was interested in, and even drove with me to the Fukiage open air onsen, which is well worth the visit for anyone who wants to make a little trip into the mountains. It would be helpful to have a car, though I didn't have one and still had a wonderful time. Takuro picked me up and dropped me off at the nearby train station at the start/end of my trip. 100% worth coming to this Airbnb if you're looking for something quiet and relaxing, and especially worth it to meet Maria and Takuro :)

Relaxing time with relaxed hosts [Kamifu House]

시영Rating, 5 stars1 month ago
I spent 3 days and 2 nights in Furano in May! Because of the location, you should have a car if possible. There are convenience facilities such as convenience stores and marts near the station, but the nearest neighborhood is about 6-7 minutes away by car. Rather, there were many good points. The surrounding area was filled with rice fields and fields, and the mountains surrounding Furano were still covered in snow, even in May. It was a place where I was satisfied just by getting up in the morning and looking out the window. Since it was the host's house, he was almost always at home, and we were able to contact him well. Check-in was delayed more than expected, so I told them in a hurry a few hours before arrival, but I was able to check in without any problems. Also, he told me that I could use the daily necessities or fixtures that he used, so I was able to ask for the necessary items and use them. We also provide a disposable toothbrush set.🪥 Living with a family in their home was really interesting because I could feel how people from other cultures live. We even shared the kitchen, so we cooked together. I remembered when we talked about the kitchen, but the fridge provides a separate guest fridge in the kitchen. Luckily, the timing was good, so I cooked and talked with the host's family and friends. We made pizza and shared it together, having a fun lunch. He also lent me a brazier. I grilled the meat that I bought myself in the evening, and I ate and talked with the host, and it was an unforgettable night. It was really fun. I visited at a vague time, but it was a really good memory. The host was really kind, and the guest room was cozy and comfortable. The bedding was really nice. I've traveled to many places in👍 Japan, but the experience here was really the first time! The time I spent leisurely in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood was like a dream:) Personally, I want to come back again in winter.

The hosts are very kind and responsive. They offered to pick us up from the station and also drove us around the area, as we came without a car. We traveled with a small child, which was no problem. The kitchen was fully equipped to cook. We also ordered the delicious dinner, that the host offers and delivers directly to the place for an additional price. We can further recommend the Shirataki Geopark Visitors Center and their exhibition on Obsidians. They offer workshops to make different things. If you are interested in Aikido, the founder Morihei also lived in Shirataki. A remote, naturesque and interesting place we can only recommend!
