Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Sakaichi Tanai, ran a ryokan called "Aiwaso" for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture.In order to preserve its history and traditions, "Hiroko", my grandson, has been restored and opened in 2021. Located on the ruins of Uenoyama Castle, this inn is a pure Japanese house with floors.Please spend time in 2 Japanese-style rooms.There is an inn on a hill overlooking Tanabe city, so you can enjoy the sunrise in the morning, sunset in the evening, and at night.On a day when the wind is calm, I recommend the cypress wooden deck, which is created with the image of the moon view of the Kwai Rikyu Palace, and I recommend tea time for the rattan chairs on the veranda. The new bath and toilet are accessible and spacious, so you can easily bathe together or need assistance. We have installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms.Projected on the Ż You can watch TV, music, movies, etc.Enjoy BGM etc. on youtube before going out in the morning. "Genki House", a house near Kumano Hongu-Taisha

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area.Also I provide two bikes at the house. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby.
