Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kern County

BEAUTIFUL home in quiet neighborhood.Close to fwy & many businesses.The area to get to it is not the nicest looking but the closer you get to it ,the better it is. The house is also close to the "bluffs" which is a nice cliff overlooking the surrounding city. The cooling/heating system works wonderfully and fast !!The system is a little loud,can feel a subtle vibration when laying in the main bedroom bed.Beds feel like pillowtop, not too firm and not super soft soft, supportive. The rooms do have dark curtains but they are not blackout ones. It was clean for most part, only small things were noticeable but nothing that would bother me or affect how I feel about staying here again in the future.The coffee machine might be a regular one, not for pods. I didnt use it but my son said there was bagged grounds.The front door does get stuck. It is heavy wood and needs 2 keys to get in.I stayed for 3 days and would def stay here again because it was really comfortable & convenient.

This place was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. our family loved every minute we were there. The house was very clean and comfortable. The patio was perfect for sitting and enjoying some games, the pool was wonderful and had toys to play with, the jacuzzi was nice and relaxing, the game room was awsome and had so much to do. I don't think you could ever get bord staying in this house. It's just enough space for everyone to be comfortable. My family is already planning another trip. The host was always quickly responsive with any questions I had. Their were little touches like the seasonings in the cabinet and the snacks in the little basket that made it even nicer.

Had a lovely stay here for a week long work trip. The quiet location was just what I needed to unwind after long days.

Rays place was an amazing surprise to our trip. It was beautiful, clean & very quiet. We were traveling up north and had to unexpectedly find a place to stay with my 2 children. Ray was super accommodating to our early arrival, we are extremely appreciative. We were able to spend our time relaxing by the pool and game room which was like Disneyland for my 2 yr. I’m definitely saving rays place for any future pass throughs !

From the moment we viewed the pictures we wanted to stay at Flying Saucer Ranch. Corey and Samantha had prompt response times and answered every question we had about the property. We stayed for 5 days/4 nights (a family of 6, with 4 teenagers two adults) and we would have happily stayed longer. There is not a detail that has been overlooked in this property. We felt so at home with the well stocked kitchen, including spices, an abundant amount of dinnerware, towels and wash cloths, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, space to spread out and enjoy our vacation in Tehachapi. Upon check in, the directions were easy to follow, and the property was impeccably clean. Major highlights were the karaoke machine, relaxing hot tub with beautiful view, fire table on the deck, and steam shower. Proximity to anything you might need is a quick convenient drive but you still appreciate the private location. You will not be disappointed choosing the Flying Saucer Ranch. 5++ in our book!

Fay and Lucas were exceptional hosts and made my stay in Bakersfield truly memorable. Their place was spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. Everything was exactly as described, if not better. They were warm, responsive, and went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed. I’d gladly stay here again and highly recommend their Airbnb to anyone visiting the area!

Brian made himself available to our group, he quickly responded to my questions and even answered the phone when I had a question. Was probably one of the hottest days this year for Bakersfield. My group utilized the pool sooooo refreshing. The home was very clean and plenty of room for all. If you’re taking the time to read this comment and are still undecided… I 100% recommend not wasting your time and just book this property. In my opinion best deal you’ll find. Looking forward to rebooking for my group next year.

Great spot, Terry and Militsa were very helpful and friendly. Their rental was beautiful and perfect for what my family needed. Plenty of space if you have a larger party. The place was clean and the toddler loved seen and helping to feed the animals! We can’t thank them enough for letting us share their space.

Dalia is a wonderful host. She cares about her tenants and is responsive to their needs and questions. I especially appreciate her final touches in the unit. Since she knew I would be working night shift and wanted to help make my stay more pleasant, she kindly installed black-out shades which did help. Thank you so much Dalia for being so kind and hospitable. The unit itself is conveniently located near the hospital downtown and there are several options to shop for affordable groceries and take-out meals. The property is gated for an extra layer of security which is also a plus.

Genie was an excellent host and I would absolutely book her place again if I’m ever in the area! She was very responsive and her place had a lot of nice touches that really made it stand out. She provided water and snacks, which was much appreciated when I arrived in at 11 PM on a Friday. The bed was super comfortable and the decorating was top notch. The bathroom was very clean and I loved the smell of the shampoo and body wash. Towels were also very soft and nice. Thank you, Genie, for a great stay!

Tamra was an amazing host and went above and beyond to help out when needed. Super friendly and responsive and would definitely rebook if we’re in the area!

We absolutely loved Aaron’s place! We rented it for the first time while doing a shoot in the desert, and are so glad we did. We will be calling on this place to stay again in the future!

This property was an amazing space for my friends and I to enjoy the lake! I think it's the best spot in the entire area to relax and enjoy all that the lake has to offer. Deborah was extremely helpful and kind! We will definitely be coming back here soon.

Helen was such a sweet and gentle soul, I had a great time at her place while taking a couple days off from hiking the PCT. Would definitely stay here again if I’m in town.

Easy to find after a long day’s travel, arriving after dark. The unit worked perfectly for my two week work assignment, located close main roads but also walkable to downtown and nearby cute neighborhoods for walking. The bed was comfortable and there are two AC units for hot weather and ceiling fans. Lots of old cute built/in cabinetry. Easy parking out front. Would definitely stay again.
