Our stay at Sunset Villa was one of the most amazing and pleasant experiences of my life. Doreka and Herbert are the most hospitable people we have ever met, they were very supportive and provided us anything we needed. Upon arrival we were greeted by lush green gardens with an assortment of fruit trees. once we entered the home the atmosphere was warm pleasant and very inviting, The interior was very beautiful, tidy, organized and the owner left us a surprise gift on our last day of a special dish .. thank you very much Doreka. The place was so peaceful and very quiet with 24 hour security protection. Overall I would rate the Sunset Villa five stars and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Uganda.

The best experience with the best host! The house looked exactly like the pictures, and the view was simply out of this world — something you truly have to see for yourself. We’ll definitely be coming back! My boyfriend and I arrived at a very awkward time due to our flight schedule, and the previous guests were still in the accommodation. Despite this, Ernest was incredibly understanding and accommodating. He suggested we wait at a nearby hotel and even went out of his way to personally pick us up once the house was ready. While waiting, we struggled to find an ATM nearby, and again, Ernest stepped in — driving us to one himself. Throughout our stay, he continued to go above and beyond, helping us plan our sightseeing, recommending top attractions, and arranging transportation. By far, Ernest is the best host we’ve ever encountered. What an absolute gentleman. You’re a legend, Ernest! God bless you and your family! 🫶🏾

Such a beautiful place to stay! The house was really spacious, clean and ready for us when we arrived. Owen, our host was super responsive and accommodative of our needs. It truly felt like home for our family and we enjoyed our stay. Having security on-site made us feel safe no matter the time. Innocent was very helpful and Raphy (the friendly dog), quickly became part of the family! The access road was a little tricky when it rained heavily, but we were still able to get in an out of the property. I’d definitely stay here again!

I stayed in this lovely, quiet apartment in a peri-urban area about 15 miles from Kampala. It’s perfect for one or two people and was ideal for my trip, especially since it’s close to Africa Development Promise’s office. Despite being outside the city center, getting around was easy—Uber drivers were usually just a short wait away. While the area doesn’t yet have many restaurants, it’s developing quickly, and I expect that to change soon. The apartment had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Laundry service is available, and linens are changed twice a week (or more often upon request, though I didn’t need it). The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. I recommend this place to anyone seeking a peaceful home base in Gayaza, near Kampala.

Kenneth went above and beyond, the communication was timely and useful. The house is curated with care and thoughtfulness. They were able to take considerations around safety and comfort as we were traveling with a young child. Most responsive host I have come across. Definitely a home away from home!
