Great child friendly cabin on Skåtøy for rent in the middle of Kragerö's finest archipelago. Located at Kirkesund/Hellesäng and easily accessible by car road (+ ferry) all the way. (see fjordbaat for ferry times) Including 2-4 parking spaces on own lot. The cottage is situated in a quiet unspoilt environment with a large terrace around the whole cottage with sun all day and overlooking Hellesengtjenna . Behind the cabin there is a big lawn with possibilities for various games and play as well as a small herb garden. Water is injected into the cabin from municipal water pipeline +sewer. It is a child friendly cabin with beds for 13 adults +1 cot. 1st floor consists of 4 bedrooms, bathroom, hallway and separate toilet. The living room and dining room are in one large all-purpose room incl. a well-equipped kitchen. On the 2nd floor there is a sofa, chairs, lounge table, TV and a bed with room for two. In addition, a detached annex with a double bed, inlaid electricity and its own toilet, as well as a shower on the outside. There is not wifi in the cabin, but otherwise good mobile coverage. Short walk from the cabin to a nice dock with a bathing staircase and space for 1-2 boats . Possibility to swim, sun and barbecue, nice view over the fjord, late evening sun and shelter from the wind. A 10 foot pioneer dinghy/rowing boat and two kayaks will also be available, 2-3 bikes as well as various toys and games. Opportunities in the area: Skiwear has fantastic hiking opportunities on old roads and trails, rich in flora and fauna. Nice boat trips to Jomfruland and other great islands in the area. At the cosy Skåtøy cafe and gallery offers a varied and exciting cultural program during the summer, including its own festival organized every year. Skiwear is the largest island in Kragerö archipelago with the most permanent residents. Skiwear has most of it, and cultural life blooms all year round. Here there are galleries with exhibitions, concerts, cafe, wooden church, cultural monument and fortress from World War II. At the far end of Vetre Skåtøy is Krikken Kystfort, a German bunkering facility from World War II. Trenches, gill halls and underground corridors are now available to the public and a visit here is an exciting experience with historical buzz. Skiwear cafe is the island's natural meeting point. Here are holidaymakers, residents, writers, musicians, children and philosophers. Skåtøy Church was built in 1862 and is nicknamed Skjærgårskatralen and is one of the largest wooden churches in the country.The church is located in a lovely setting in the middle of Skåtøy's narrowest part with sea views, and it is a popular place for weddings . You have to be out in good time if you want an archipelago wedding. The ferries connect the islands and to get to the cabin by car you are dependent on taking the ferry from Kragerø to Skåtøyroa. If you cannot reach the ferry it is possible to take the taxi boats that have their pier right by the ferry. There is no shop on Skåtøy, so action must be taken in Kragerø. A visit to Kragerö's famous butcher and sausage maker Brubakken for the country's largest selection of sausages is recommended. The fishing pier offers ponds with live fish and lobster and freshly baked mackerel cakes, a local specialty. Ferry from Kragerø to Skåtøy see ferry times: (fjordbaat) and ferry to Jomfruland and other great islands in the area. There are duvets and pillows for the number of people there are beds for. The tenant must bring along linen sets, i.e. sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases as well as towels . Alternatively, this can be rented from us, see the list for additional services. The tenant must cover ordinary consumables such as toilet paper, barbecue charcoal, pewter bag, etc. Key delivery is agreed upon booking. Other possibilities in the neighborhood: Grocery stores, etc. can be found in Kragerø center , access via ferry or boat. Golf course at Stabbestad, access by ferry or boat. Local fishing opportunities: In the Kragerø archipelago there is the North - European flat oyster which is considered to be the highest quality, but the Pacific oyster is also found. Mussels can be found in large quantities, but it's important to keep up with the mussel warning! Beach crab fishing is popular as well as mackerel fishing etc. On Skåtøy there is a good mushroom terrain, chanterelle and stone mushrooms, etc. as well as funnel chanterelle found all the way out in November.
