Holiday houses in Kuala Krai

Ryan and Michele are great host. Friendly and very responsive. They speak English, malay and Chinese. They built the place with passion. We felt at home at thier place. Beds and pillows were very very comfortable and the rooms were very clean. They have a small kitchen where you can do simple cooking. Drive to town is about 20 mins. That's what we did. The place is in a small Chinese village where everyone knows everyone so it's very safe. Will recommend this place and will definitely come back.

Lovely decoration that fits younger guests. I love the concept of simplicity yet adequate of furnitures and appliances. Lovely lighting, cozy living room, and well maintained toilet & bathroom. Recommended to 1-2 guests for a room. Not really suitable for family.

The main chalet area is just a few minutes' walk from Lata Kertas Waterfall. They also have a special unit right beside the waterfall, which I was lucky to get thanks to the host's offer. Anne, the host’s daughter, speaks English but is based in another part of Malaysia. Her mother manages the chalet but doesn’t speak English, so communication is best via messages (she translates and replies in English). I messaged multiple times for recommendations on attractions and restaurants, and she was incredibly helpful—even calling places to check before replying. Truly appreciated the effort and hospitality! The room was simple, clean, and surprisingly comfortable. The mattress, pillows, and blanket were really good quality for the price. Toilet is basic (no sink inside, but there’s an outdoor kitchen sink you can use). There’s a fishing pond right outside the chalet. Lata Kertas Waterfall is just a couple of stairs down, perfect for a quick dip.

We had a great stay in Dabong. She was very responsive and clear in her communication, and she gave us helpful recommendations for things to do in the area. She made us feel welcome and included us in a river cruise and a visit to the local market with her family, which we really appreciated. The room was simple and comfortable, and the location was close to several activities and just a short walk to a nice, not-too-crowded waterfall. It was a good base for exploring the region. Thanks!

Great place to stay for a couple days. Although the surrounding is little bit creepy but in the morning it's full of people.
