Guest House Agae is a renovated traditional house that can only accommodate one group at a time. It is in a very convenient location, about 550 m (about 7 minutes on foot) to Kumano Kodo and Kinkou Oji, a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and restaurants (Shoji Teahouse and Tororo-ya). The owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, so we will do our best to accommodate your questions and advice about walking the Kumano Kodo, as well as pick-up and drop-off when you need it. We can also provide personal guides, so please let us know. Prices do not include meals. Our house is called Kamikura-Hideaway. It is a small 50-year-old house located at the foot of Kamikura Shrine. Contemporary artist Fulbrn revived it as the art piece "Narrative Space." Since this house once served as a geologist's hideaway, bits of history are scattered throughout the building. Our uniqueness has even been featured in the travel media AFAR, reflecting our commitment to a memorable guest experience. We hope you will enjoy touching someone's story "floating" around the room.

Experience a stay in a traditional Japanese house, tucked inside the forested mountains of the Yoshino Valley. This converted farmhouse is located in Kawakami Village, the source of the Yoshino/Kino river. The house sits just above an idyllic swimming spot, perfect for families to enjoy the cool, clear waters Guests will have the full property to themselves, which includes a handmade cedar bathtub with views across the river. There is also outdoor space to enjoy barbecuing under the stars.

For safety, a motion-sensor camera is at the entrance; it only takes still photos when someone passes, never continuous video, ensuring privacy.

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)

Mikiura Guesthouse

Reservation start from 2 person / 2 nights minimum. We accept only one group at a time so you will have exclusive use of the entire property. Guesthouse is a typical old Japanese house, not like a resort Hotel or Ryokan for business. We have no meal service. Mikiura village is surrounded by the clear blue sea and natural green mountains. You'll enjoy real Japan such as rural life experience, quiet time and beautiful nature.
