Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. The Empty Nest

The Empty Nest is awaiting guests who need some R&R, are in town for an event, or just need a change of scenery. We are 35 minutes from Notre Dame, 45 minutes to Warren Dunes, 15 minutes from IN State Line, and 20 minutes from Swiss Valley Ski Resort. The house is in close proximity to many all sport lakes, fishing lakes, snowmobile trails, public beach, and small town shops & restaurants. There are a few county parks near and a Casino within 15 minutes driving distance for extra entertainment!

The Hideaway on Mitchellii Lane

A completely furnished apartment in the basement of our log home (our main residence) on 5 acres of woods above beautiful Shavehead Lake. Entrance into the apartment through a screened in porch and double French doors provides privacy and space to relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoor landscape. A large egress window allows natural sunlight into the bedroom on the opposite side of the wall from the kitchen/dining room/living room.
