Holiday rentals with a patio in Lake of Egypt

We absolutely loved staying here!! Very clean and quiet, peaceful and beautiful!! Everything we needed was at the place and everything was super cute and very clean. I really appreciated Tammy’s little binder of instructions and recommendations for places to go and enjoyed the coffee bar. They really thought of everything!! Pictures looked like the stairs were outside, but I was pleasantly surprised to see they are indoors. I will say for future guests, GPS (we use the Waze app) lead us to a completely different private address. We passed the street the place was on so I easily knew where to go, just don’t trust GPS! Street sign is very visible thankfully and be prepared for gravel roads and a fun backwoods experience with gorgeous scenery. We loved it, so breathtaking, secluded and just what we needed! Would definitely stay here again!

Rae has a very cute but small 2 bedroom bungalow in the center of Murphysboro. The master bedroom is large though and very comfortable with a great bed. The second bedroom has a smallish bed/cot not as comfortable. If you’re sensitive to light in the morning this place might not be the best because the windows are not fully covered. All in all a very nice, clean place in a great part of town

Phyllis was wonderful, kind, and inviting. check in and out was quick and painless. furniture is comfortable and she allows pets for a still reasonable price! plenty of space for the dogs to run and the place is perfectly placed far enough away from the hustle and bustle in town but close enough to run to the store if you need somrthing!

Super excited that we had the opportunity to stay here. Perfect location for our event in town and the accommodations were great. Definitely recommend this property and will be keeping it in my favorites list for next time.

Had a great time and Patrick and Jennifer’s place in Carterville! Very clean, looked to be newly renovated, exactly as described. The instructions to find the drive and get into the house were clear and easily followable. Comfortable furniture and spotless amenities. Nice lil neighborhood, it felt quite peaceful and safe. I didn’t really need to reach out to our Hosts for anything, they had everything covered for us. STL was only a little over 2 hours away, and we took a day trip there. Lots of hiking, lakes to swim, and local restaurants around Carterville as well.

Josh was awesome! He gave us great recommendations of things to do and was great at communicating. The place was super nice and the Underground Public House beneath the place had amazing food and some of the best cocktails we have ever had. We would definitely recommend and will be back again.

This is our favorite place to stay when we’re in town. The king sized bed is the most comfortable bed, ever! I also appreciate how spacious the kitchen & living areas are.

Four of us stayed in Lisa's place for the weekend and we had more than enough space. The outdoor area was definitely our favorite amenity. Sitting outside anytime of the day with a beautiful view of the bluffs was special. I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. It was a wonderful time.

This was our second visit to Alto Cabin and we love it! It was pretty new when we first went, and now they’ve added a lot more touches that make it great like yard games and more kitchen supplies. We enjoyed lots of day trips for hiking and lounging in the hot tub at night. This is a place to go relax, not a place to go if you want the big city. Carbondale & Marion are both pretty close by and there are stores and a good butcher in Marion. The cabin is well equipped for cooking and has good WiFi for all your screening needs. We needed to contact the host one time for a question and she answered immediately. We are lucky to have found Alto cabin!

Rebecca was an amazing host to work with! She was very accommodating and responded promptly to all messages! The property was cozy and had enough space for everyone. The sunsets were beautiful!!!

The house was perfect for a quiet ladies get away. Nicely decorated, easy to access. Owner kept in contact and made sure we always had what we needed. The neighborhood felt safe for morning walks. Many deer and even a fox! Definitely sleeps four adults in the king beds comfortably. The small couch is a little stiff for older backs, but fine for younger fit bodies.

We had a great weekend at Lena’s house. It was very clean. A very nice place to stay out of the way and secluded in a very quiet setting. We highly recommend staying here!
