Holiday houses in Le Maine Lafont

Lovely home and perfect for the four of us. Very close to town and very quiet. Easy access to wonderful restaurants. The check in was great and cannot thank them for also taking my niece to Station as we had to leave before her. Parking is not for feint hearted but good. If you cannot face the reverse then easy to park on road heading out towards station. Would stay again. Thanks

Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par Caroline, elle a été attentive à notre bien être et notre confort durant toute la semaine. Nous avons trouvé en arrivant de quoi « manger et boire » ce qui nous a beaucoup facilité le démarrage de notre séjour. Le niveau d’équipement est supérieur à ce qui est annoncé : grandes serviettes de bain + serviettes de piscine moelleuses, dosettes de café, petit déjeuner complet, tisanes et thé, mobilier de jardin et de repos confortable, grand jardin privatif. Pour regarder les JO le grand écran était parfait ! L’espace piscine est particulièrement joli et bien réussi, l’aménagement est très relaxant. Les espaces pour les différents logements sont bien distincts et permettent l’intimité de chacun. Nous repartons avec de bons souvenirs de chaque endroit dont nous avons profité chez Caroline

Nous avons passé 3 excellentes nuits dans le logement. Il correspondait parfaitement aux photos et à nos attentes. Les terrasses privatives sont très spacieuses et offrent un point de vue superbe et paisible. Le poêle à bois chauffe très bien, et la cuisine est très bien équipée. De plus Lesley avait pris soin de nous laisser un panier de bienvenue, ainsi que diverses choses comme du sucre et du café au cas où nous en aurions eu besoin. Nous avons très bien dormi et profité du lieu calme pendant notre séjour. Merci encore pour l'accueil.

In the 40+ places I have stayed on Airbnb, Steph’s is one of the very best. A huge and private space, beautifully and artistically decorated and furnished, full of quirky decor, and the most lovely welcome. From freshly cut flowers from Steph’s garden, arranged in a vase, a little posy of fresh herbs in a vase in the kitchen, dinner and breakfast for your first night/morning provided, big fluffy towels, amazing shower, the list goes on. The outdoor space is divine. I spent a lazy afternoon watching swallows dipping in and out of the pool and butterflies everywhere. The sweeping views of the valley are so calming. It was unseasonably cold when we were there and Steph very thoughtfully messaged to check we had enough firewood (we did, so well stocked). Steph & Dave were amazing hosts, gave us complete privacy but so friendly and easy to chat to when we saw them when we were coming and going. Perfect for couples or for young families, I really hope we get the opportunity to return.

Thank you to Cyrille and his family for a wonderful stay. If only we could have stayed longer. The pool area is so relaxing and the surroundings are stunning. The interior design was also lovely and homely and the kitchen was well equipped with the essentials. Communication was fantastic. We would love to go back!!

Das Gite liegt schon ein bisschen versteckt,aber dafür wunderbar ruhig. Mann könnte morgens den Kaffe an verschiedenen Stellen am und ums Haus genießen (wenn das Wetter mitspielt) und bei dem Ausblick die Seele baumeln lassen. Die Gastgeber haben auch die französische Gemütlichkeit sehr in sich aufgesogen und lassen sich nur schwer aus der Ruhe bringen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder, aber zu einer gastlicheren Jahreszeit! (Wobei das abendliche Entspannen am Ofen auch sehr kuschelig war)

Our stay was great! Derk and his wife were very attentive and warm hosts, who welcome us and explained all about the region. The house corresponds to the pictures: it is beautiful, comfortable and cozy, has all the needed appliances for a pleasant stay in the countryside. Bathroom and shower are really good quality, living room extremely comfortable with a nice woodfire and the TV is actually larger than you can tell from the pictures. The garden is the highlight of the house, with a stunning view and a relaxing outside area for meals. The villages in the region are nice, with little shops, restaurants and sight seeing. Great recommendation for relaxing vacations! We would definitely like to stay in the Gite again in the future :) (and we love Ramsi, the golden retriever). Thank you Derk and family, we had a great time!

Beautiful property, it’s remote and quiet but close to town where you’ll find shops and restaurants and anything else you need. Sally the host was very quick to respond with helping us find a local vet for our dog to get the required treatment to return to the UK and to give us an up to date code for the key safe (it had been changed since the one we were given but we were sorted out in less than 10 mins). The outside area was beautiful, a great place to relax with lovely views over the fields (for anyone interested in when you get sun, the property faces west, we went mid May and started to get sun on the pool area at around 9 and it lasted till about 8/8:30 but the front of the property had light from much earlier if you wanted to enjoy a morning coffee in the sun). We didn’t explore much locally but for those willing to drive I highly recommend Rocamadour, sarlat, domme, and la roque gageac.
