Original 1990 settler Cottage situated in a Native Bush Setting close to small creek. Tui and Bell Birds abound and a feeder is set up on the deck from where you can sit and watch them feed. Wake up to the dawn chorus. The Cottage is very private, set a short (5 minute) walk from owners house. Property is on a hill situated in 70 acres with Protea Plantings, Native Bush and lots of tracks to explore. Hosts happy to drive guests up to cottage if their vehicles are not suitable. Off Grid.

Sandra & Daryn's place is beautiful and well appointed, very modern and has stunning views. The washer/dryer was appreciated (we stayed in many B&Bs on our trip and this is not as common as you'd think). Bed was comfy, and Sandra & Daryn are very responsive and helpful if you need anything. We also appreciated Zara the cat coming to see us (she's gorgeous!) We will absolutely stay here again when we visit Christchurch again. Thanks Sandra & Daryn.

I would say that this home far exceeds the average standards. Ulrike’s home really makes you feel like you are home. The garden is beautiful and overlooks the sea to Lyttelton. Everything inside is aesthetically pleasing, and you can tell that she puts extra care into each individual accent. She really counts for what people might like to do and make sure that the home is full of endless possibilities and suggestions and ways for you to detach from screens and enjoy the space that you’re in. She’s also very communicative and a joy to talk with and share with. Even though the main property is on the same site as the guest house you never feel like your privacy is being invaded. They leave a lot of space for you to explore and to just have peace with yourself and your partner. The grill was an exceptional piece and bonus. We loved making burgers and cooking and the kitchen had everything that you could ask for. It’s just very clear that Ulrike puts a lot of care into their space.

The cottage was well heated, clean and in a really quiet location. Loved the spa. Very happy with the accommodation and being able to have my dog there was a real bonus. Would happily stay again.
